Woman claims group planned sacrifice
- A Brownsville mother said her son is involved in a teenage vampire cult that was recently planning to kill and bathe in their victims blood.
Brownsville Independent School District police are investigating the claims though school district officials could not substantiate the womans story or her sons allegations Tuesday.
The 16-year-old boy provided a statement to school officials Thursday about an alleged drug purchase at Rivera High School and told them of his involvement with a group of local students who drink each others blood and were plotting to sacrifice a victim.
In his statement, the Rivera High School junior said he had to obey the cults leader and that the group planned to kill a person and bathe in their blood.
BISD Police Chief Oscar Garcia said his office plans to investigate the allegations with the assistance of the Brownsville Police Department.
The information that came to us is that it (cult activities) took place off campus, Garcia said. Well definitely have a follow-up investigation to make sure everyone is safe.
The boys mother, who asked not to be identified Tuesday, said her son told her that he and his girlfriend would cut themselves in the teachers parking lot of the school and taste each others blood. The boys mother said her son claims the group has members in other local high schools.
Letters addressed to the boy and provided to The Herald by his mother, contain details of alleged acts of vampirism as well as logos and symbols from popular punk bands.
Sorry if my blood isnt yummy, one letter states. I hope you dont feel bad about cutting me. I liked it a lot. It doesnt hurt.
According to a 911 tape released to The Herald Tuesday, the boy was held at Rivera High School shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday with reported suicidal tendencies.
In the tape, operators say the boy told a school district police officer that he would commit suicide if he went home. An ambulance took him to Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville.
According to his mother, the boy is receiving treatment at the San Antonio State Hospital. She said she spoke with him and his caseworker Monday and reported he was doing better and taking anti-depressants.
The woman described her son as a good student, involved in school activities.
His style of dress changed when he was in the ninth grade when he began to dress in all black or in the gothic style she said. To me (the color) black is evil, but he claimed it wasnt. He told me, Its just me.
More recently, the woman says she began to see behavioral changes in the boy and his taste in music favored metal and punk. He started experimenting with drugs and stealing money from acquaintances.
She has asked school officials to enforce dress codes and rules against bringing CDs to school.
We need to open the eyes of parents, she said.

Mentally-ill or subhuman filth? I don't know which.
On so many levels.....
Texas Vampire Alert!
Please let me know if you want on or off this South Texas/Mexico ping list.
Too much time on their hands after school, I'd say.

"The woman described her son as a good student, involved in school activities."
Just once, I want the parent to say something like, "I knew he was no good!"
Or the neighbor to say, "Quiet? Hell, he was a real jerk and we all knew he was raping babies in his house!"
Cute. Schools: God out, vampires in.
Thank goodness that woman spoke up and did not ignore the signs. Hope it is not too late.
Poor mom.....Like theses meds are gonna do the trick.....
In one episode he hung out with a "Vampire" cult for an hour or so. What a bunch of sorry freaks! I imagine they are D&D geeks who never grew out of it. They just took it to a whole higher level of role-playing geekdom.
as usual the parent claims their spawn is a good kid.
time for a new tag line.
...How embarrassing.
LOL! I'm a Horticulturist, not a psychologist or ME. I made the same comment on the "Body Suspension" thread.

Where DO they come from? Under slimy rocks? The margins of society? Where, a?
That was it! I remember them saying "The Masquerade".
They took themselves so seriously, it was funny.
Not a clue in the story as to whether this was a Gothic thing, a hispanic thing, or anything at all about the demographics of the kids involved. That kind of information is relevant, even if only to the parents of kids who attend the school.
When you take something away, it leaves a vaccuum and will be filled with something else.
