I told hubby that we could claim to be Hispanic because several of our children were born in New Mexico. Most Americans, if polled, believe New Mexico is a foreign country, so I don't know why we couldn't claim Mexican status. :)
La Raza would claim that New Mexico is a part of Aztlan, there fore having been born there they are indeed Mexican and Hispanic and worthy of Federal Diversity goodies!
