"Still, Sen. Rod Smith, D-Gainesville, called it a "traffic ticket enhancement" act..."

This is sort of the way I see it. I am one of those that will give a single flash of my lights to a guy blocking the passing lane and then try to use some other lane - or on rare occasion, the shoulder - to pass. But I will be honest here, I have been saved more than one ticket by being blocked by a fast lane nanny at just the "right" time.

With a law like this, speeders will be more likely to go as fast as they want, including times when they will be passing radar cops.

It most definitely WILL reduce road rage as well.

It will also increase ticket revenue, extracted from those who actually deserve it (sometimes that would be me).

I most definitely see this as a win-win for everyone concerned. There is NO downside.

which won't come unless she has already broken her water and the baby is waving at it's mother.

Depends on where you live I guess. Here an ambulance will respond to a hang nail.

I have REAL good brakes....please don't hit your brakes, if they hit you it could cause injury to you!

A trick I learned from my husband is; if someone is tailgating you, "HIT YOUR FLASHERS ON AND OFF FAST" the person tailgating will think you hit the brakes and back off.

Works for me...........

....oh, that's nice, "IT'S THE GOOD FOR ME BUT NOT FOR THEE ATTITUDE". Can't you see how hypocritical that is????

I had to go back to the original thread that you are criticizing to see what it said. I give you credit for figuring out enough of its meaning to respond! I couldn't make out what the heck he was getting at. Forget road rage... that poster has font rage!

The professional truckers make me anxious enough, but I think there are two things worse: 1. the dump trucks with unsecured loads and debris/items flying out of them (I lost a windshield and front grill to tools flying out of a truck), and 2. Ryder or other rental trucks. I assume if you're driving a rental truck, it isn't something you do every day, and I'd be a bit more humble and careful in how I drove it.

I'm getting a new (new to us, that is) Suburban today, and you can bet I'll be really careful how I drive it! It's an '89... made back when it was a real truck. I'm going to be careful driving it just because I don't want anything to happen to it... probably I'll never want to risk the highways again.

That statute is referring to passing on single-lane roads. It is wholly inapplicable to the discussions on this thread.

"I'm sure it would have but I would have been more ticked off at the young fool in the swerving car for being an @$$. The fact is that you don't tailgate at 75mph, if another driver is in your way and there's plenty of room, you hit your blinker and cruise on by, no fuss, no muss."

Yeah. . .me too, but I would really have been pissed at the guy who hit his brakes and caused the accident.

The trucks on I-95 Richmond to DC and back are a real bear. Those guys are not immune to the road-rage attitude and carry a bigger hit.

Yuck.

I hate driving here.

Good, as this thread shows, not everyone knows that! Maybe it's not stressed in driver's ed. I think my husband told me.

Why don't you tell us what you really think? ;-)

I'm not mocking you Individual Rights in NJ. I agree whole heartedly and believe that, if it's possible that you can calm down, you would be able to articulate a whole host of feelings so many of us out here experience because of the low-life chunks of vomit littering our hiways.
They, like all their liberal (Demoncrap) obstructionist friends in Congress who obstruct the will of the people, hold the fast lane hostage for one reason and one reason only: To get noticed.
If they aren't in some way causing you to have to take a detour around 'them' then they are (in their minds) insignificant. You have to admit... they do have a point.

They pull this same s*** in the grocery store. Trying to bring the ol European "drive on the left" mentality here. I can't spend much time in the store anymore because I'm liable to kick the s*** out of some inconsiderate, self-righteous ditz who's either pushing her cart in the wrong direction or blocking the entire isle.

To bad we can cite those idiots also.

Anyway I rant.

Good post.
