Clinton aide lays out U.N. role. Ex-president projected to spend two years as special envoy

UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- Former President Clinton will spend at least two years in his new role as the U.N. envoy promoting recovery in tsunami-hit countries, his deputy said.

His job also will be to demand accountability for the unprecedented billions of dollars donated by countries and individuals, (emphasis added by poster) said Erskine Bowles.....

...With the United Nations under attack over alleged corruption in the oil-for-food program in Iraq, sex abuse by U.N. peacekeepers and mismanagement by top officials, Bowles said it is essential to make sure the billions of dollars for tsunami recovery is used properly.

"We've got to be the champion of transparency and accountability," he said.Read more at CNN.com

Clinton to assure honesty in UN?

Clinton to watch for mismanagement?

Clinton to demand accountability?

Clinton to be a champion of transparency?

Clinton, the man who wants to become Secretary of the UN is going to watch over the shoulders of others and "make them accountable?" (And ruin his chances of keeping friends in high places by turning them in if they are naughty- LOL)

This is a joke, isn't it?

Sadly, no.

Putting the fox in charge of the chicken koop. I wonder if President George Bush 41 is pleased with the appointment.

Corrupt is as corrupt does.

This is just great, one of America's most corrupt, reckless, irresponsible and on top of that an impeached president, being given a 2 year job to siphon, er I mean, oversee billions in aid money for a corrupt UN.

What's happened to his African Aids Tour?

It's so true, Rush Limbaugh, often comments on how the left always rewards their failed compadres with more opportunity to pillage, spoil, and steal the goods. Well, Rush didn't say the last 6 words of my sentence, but he could.

Now it should be apparent to most Americans, the UN is CORRUPT and just a whorehouse for the world's shysters, tin pot dictators, and an assortment of slimey vermin.

Hey! He ran the most ethical administration ever, didn't he?

Yeah, right. His "ethics" run in the same league with the UN's.

If we can extricate his lips from Bubba's derriere with a crow-bar, I think we'd get the answer to your question.

Clintons real job will be giving Kofi pointers on how to cover up crimes and evade prosecution.

Wouldn't we all. Here is one reason that I was so disturbed over the clinton/Bush love feast. Did clinton fool Bush 41, or did Bush 41 know all about it?

I certainly hope the As* kissing is over. If I see one more picture of slick willy standing next to any Bush family member, I will vomit.

The most corrupt person will now oversee the most corrupt group. Wow!!

I love it that Bush's father is involved with this. It's called "Keep Your enemies closer". Bush, Sr. will be the real watchdog of both Bubba and the UN.

I know...that is the only way to interpret this that makes any sense(?). Looks like Clinton is on the top rung of that ladder he has been climbing to gain control of the U.N.

In addition to wondering about the salary - I wonder: Who appointed him? I mean, was it a vote in the UN, or an appointment by Kofi, or just how did this happen? I don't see any information in the story about how this job was created, and how Clinton was selected.
