Though Republicans in some circles are rallying around beleaguered House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, one prominent Republican yesterday dissociated himself from the powerful and controversial lawmaker.
"He is an absolute embarrassment to me and to the Republican Party," U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Bridgeport, told more than 50 Greenwich residents yesterday morning at Town Hall. He was in Greenwich to host a public forum, open to all political parties, on whatever pressing issues attendees were interested in discussing.

I agree .. people think that just because he's a guy who represents Connecticut - they can't say anything to him. Phooey. I tell them upfront I'm not their constituent - but the last time I checked - I WAS A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Although they don't answer me - they are still forced to read my email - at least the first few lines - so make them powerful and to the point.
I never use bad language and I never, ever all them names. I give them all the respect THEY NEVER GIVE TO ME.
But .. even though my seantors are dems - I CALL THEIR LOCAL OFFICES AND USUALLY LEAVE THEIR PHONE STAFF SPEECHLESS - which can't be a bad thing.
Hey! I'm doing my part for dissent.
Mr. "light in the toes" ? No surprise here.
We've got a comfortable enough lead in the house that we can get rid of Shays and not really be hurt. The democrats will cheer for offing a republican in a leadership post and the republican base will cheer for getting rid of him. Everybody is happy. Not to mention if arnold's redistricting passes we'll probably pick up 6-7 seats here in california.

Btw, are you aware of any update on the health of Mae, the 81 year old lady from Georgia?
Someone tell the Shayster that he's the embarrassment to the GOP.
Shays has embarrassed me for years!!
I just checked the chat thread and a couple others. No news. I plan to keep my eye on the threads for awhile. I am very curious about the case, and praying that Mae comes through in great shape.
Thats exactly what i was trying to say, i'd be more than happy to see a backstabbing worthless rino like Shays get ejected from his seat. I didnt mean to give off the impression that just because hes a republican we should stick by him, by all means eject them.
