Shays: DeLay Should Quit As House Leader

"Tom's conduct is hurting the Republican Party, is hurting this Republican majority and it is hurting any Republican who is up for re-election," Rep. Chris Shays, R-Conn., told The Associated Press in an interview, calling for DeLay to step down as majority leader.

DeLay "becomes the poster child for a lot of the things the Democrats think are wrong about Republican leadership. As long as he's there, he's going to become a pretty good target," Dodd said on ABC.

As we say in NJ, Shays and Senator Dud (the co-bagman with Don Fowler in 1996 who got a pass because he is a member of the bob and Billie Club) perfect together!

I wonder if he took a poll before he spoke out?

He knows Clinton raped Juanita but voted NO on impeachment. He is the embarrassment.

I was wondering if he was the one who did that.

"Its also clear that Delay's questionable ethics are making it easy for the Dems to do so."

===

There are NO "questionable ethics". You are buying into the Dem propaganda.

I watched the Fox News roundtable, or whatever they call it, and people pointed out that everyone who is campaigning, gets help from family, because they trust them, and pay them out of campaign funds, which are PRIVATE DONATIONS, NOT taxpayer money, so it's totally legitimate and there is nothin wrong with it ethically or otherwise.

Also, about his trip to Russia, financed by a foundation -- there is no indication that DeLay knew who was donating to the foundation, and even if he did, that is totally legitimate too.

The Dems are just trying to make things sounds, as if there was something wrong, when in fact there wasn't.

calling for DeLay to step down as majority leader

Tom Delay should call for Chris Shays to step down as a Republican.

Chris Shays should keep his mouth shut when it comes to successful strong Republican conservatives like DeLay. He should concentrate fixing the miseries of the north east Republicans and stop blabbing on things he knows nothing about.

"Tom's conduct is hurting the Republican Party, is hurting this Republican majority and it is hurting any Republican

....Get used to, this is the way the left will operate from now on. They are convinced that the Internet is their solution.

Don't believe it. This is an orchestrated attack by the left supported by the MSM. Don't you find it a coincidence that we hardly hear the name Donald H. Rumsfeld? and yet, just six months ago, was in the same position as Delay now? - Well, that is because he is off the leftist agenda!... "

Say enough times until people Begin to believe it" that is what they believe. So be alert and be smart and don't let these bozos divide us.

I am not familiar with everything Delay did or did not do.
But I do know that he was rebuked three times by the Republican chaired House Ethics Committee last year.

Plain and simple, when you get admonished by members of your own party, it just doesn't look good.

Shays and the RINOs are putting their reelections over principle, as usual.

I know one thing. If DeLay is forced to resign, the GOP can kiss the mid-term elections goodbye. Conservatives will stay home in disgust.

As usual, we eat our own. We will never learn.

It is not "we", it is the socialist Republicans disguised as "moderates" who are doing the damage.

You are absolutely correct. It would behoove our President and Sen. Frist and Congressman Hastert to come out with a ringing endorsement of DeLay pronto, instead of their mealy-mouthed comments that Juan Williams threw out on Chris Wallace's show today as being a sign that DeLay doesn't have the support of the Republican leadership. If DeLay goes, I stay home from the polls in '06. Bill Frist and Denny Hastert won't have to worry about their image in the media, because they won't be majority leaders any more if all conservatives sit out next year's election. They already damaged DeLay, the most effective leader the Republicans have ever had, by caving into the media last year with these "rebukes" for nothing that was illegal and we see how successful that sell-out was.

I've come to the conclusion that faux Republicans like Shays are doing more damage to the republic than the Democrats.

As a Republican, a Republican district organizer, and campaign contributer

"I voted for Bush in 2000 BUT...

"I'm a lifelong Republican BUT...

"I'm a veteran BUT Bush has got to go...

We've heard them all before. Begone, Troll!

"...return fire."

Exactly!! I am a Republican, but, jeez, these sissies are NO REPUBLICANS as far as I am concerned. Bill Frist can GO!! Shays can GO!! I will be a disgruntled Republican as long as our Party in Congress has no guts!!

Pelosi also has questionable traveling activities and, probably, the entire Congress is guilty of using lobby $$$. We need FIGHTERS not WUSSIES!!! FRIST CAN GO BE NICE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

When are we simply going to return fire.

I know it is very frustrating for all of us, but remember that we are winning one election after another, and at the end this is the ultimate return of fire, and the fire that kill liberals more than anything else.

What good does it do to win elections if those who we elect don't get the job done? By job, I mean standing down the Dems. to get judges through, standing down Dems to get Bolton through, just standing down the Dems and showing them that they LOST!!! For pete's sake!!
