Folks, I think this researcher is interested in finding out real names and personal information about our protest organizers and attendees.

I think that's probably the case, as well.
But I don't mind posting my real name here:

I'm glad to read Kristinn has responded to you via email.

Might I ask you a question, pls? Are you working from a grant, and if so a grant from whom? Is this for a college paper?

From Protesting the Republican National Convention (with Fabio Rojas)
Abstract

Civic, social, political, and labor organizations have long played important roles in the politics of protest. We examine the relationship between these organizations and the grievances expressed by individuals participating in protests. We hypothesize that the expressed grievances of demonstrators are influenced by the sponsoring organization, the other groups to which protesters belong, and the organizations that recruited them for the protest. We test these hypotheses with a survey of 482 individuals who attended four planned, legally sanctioned protest events during the 2004 Republican National Convention. We find that event sponsorship and organizational recruitment have statistically significant effects on expressed grievances, though organizational membership does not. Recruiting organizations influence protesters only when their goals are policy specific. Our findings suggest that political organizations are most effective in shaping policy discourse through active engagement with citizens. Organizational membership alone is insufficient to shape public discourse.

I have a hypothesis for ya. The amount of influence a leftist special interest group has on an individual is proportional the size of the ring in their nose, the spike in their hair, and/or the number of tattoos on their face. The self-motivated people (myself included) who assembled across the street from the useful idiots of the hate America left came together on their volition and their own dime. No one collected money to sponsor. No one collected money to bus us their. No one paid for our hotel rooms. We paid our own way to go to Fayetteville and express our disdain for those who use the guise of anti-war rhetoric to push a socialist agenda and lend support, aid and comfort to the enemies of America.

Why don't you research some of those organizations (such as Code Pink) and get a clue.

I wasnt at the rally, but I think Buford P says it pretty well.

Code pink is an organized socialist organization.
Most Anti code pink protesters were probably a loose knit group of free individuals that stand against soscialism.

I personnally have spent my life fighting communism and socialism as they are contrary to our constitution and the basis of our country and freedom itself.

While organizational membership alone may be insufficient to shape public discourse you neglect the deep undercurrent of private thought.

Socialist tend to lean toward mob mentality, that does not make them the majority or correct.

Private citizens with free thought and action are the basis of this land. Most Americans in my estimation watch groups like Code Pink with disdain but are unlikely to display it in a public spectacle.

That said, My hat is off to those that do protest the professional protesters

I usually have to remind people that I do NOT particularly enjoy freeping these anti-war leftists. "Conservative activism" is an oxymoron. It is inherent that statist leftists take to the streets protesting that we ALL should conform to their way of thinking while conservatists/libertarians will leave you alone and want to be left alone.

Unfortunately, if we remain quiet while the leftists fart in unison (kudos to your tagline), we're left with a pretty foul enduring smell.

Watching with interest. Legitimate unbiased research concerning both sides would be good thing if that is where you are coming from.

As was I. And I did!! And I know you and yours did, too.

Other than just playing with him, I have no interest in furthering Mr. Heaney's agenda.

No kidding. It's a 4+ hour drive each way for me, and I'm a busy girl, Michael. Taking a day out of my life to support the troops is HARD. But I'm old enough to remember Vietnam, and the anti-war group then, and how they went unanswered at that time. I'm not willing to let them go unanswered again. This "We support the troops, but not their mission" crap is exactly that - CRAP.
