Two oceans means nothing in this day of global travel.
It meant nothing in 1914 (or whenever that flu pandemic happened) either.

Two oceans means nothing in this day of global travel. It meant nothing in 1914 (or whenever that flu pandemic happened) either.

That flu pandemic occurred in 1917-1918 and spread from returning soldiers.

The puzzle was that it attacked the strongest, fittest young people and left the old and children somewhat unscathed.
