Ex Member of Saddam's Regime Arrested

The Iraqi government said Tuesday it captured a former member of Saddam Hussein's regime who was believed to be funding the insurgency.

The government said in a statement it captured Fadhil Ibrahim Mahmud Al-Mashadani at a farm northeast of Baghdad. It said he worked as the former leader of the military bureau in Baghdad under Saddam.

we've been following this on the daily thread for a couple of hours, looking, listening.....it's amazing how good news from Iraq gets ignored. This should be a huge story.

You are thinking of Izzat Ibrahim al-Duri, he is a different guy. Bill Girtz identified Fadhil Ibrahim Mahmud Mashadani as "a critical link between the senior Ba'athist leaders hiding in Syria and the insurgents within Iraq."

I know it's a different guy....I was just curious as to the recent where abouts of al-duri. We haven't heard boo about him in a while.
