I didn't know warfare was supposed to be enjoyable. I always though it was about breaking your enemies will to fight. I guess we could have just shouted at them and hoped that worked.

Kurt was in the American army. He ended up as a POW in the area.

Schizophrenia seems to run in his family so I don't think it was this experience that caused his later emotional problems. Still, his book about the event is worth reading.
