In our feature lead last weekend, Bérubé vs. Horowitz: Is the Left in Bed With Terrorists? we ran a debate about DiscoverTheNetwork.org between Prof. Michael Bérubé and David Horowitz.
In the final round, when Prof. Berube emailed his final response, he did not put his answer at the bottom of the exchange by his name as is the procedure at Frontpage Symposium. Instead, he inserted his comments in an interlineated format which answered Horowitz's comments point by point and he put his very last paragraph below his name. He did this without flagging his interlineated replies throughout the text or informing the moderator, Jamie Glazov, of what he did. The moderator therefore scrolled down and assumed the final paragraph was Prof. Berube's final answer.
However, clearly it was not Prof. Bérubé's final answer, and we learned this from his recent post on his blog in which he stated that we had cut his replies from the exchange and then criticized him for not giving a more complete answer. We wish, of course, that he had contacted us before launching this attack to ascertain what had gone wrong. Now that we have been apprised of the mistake we will of course post the full text of Prof. Berube's final response -- in its full delineated form -- along with David Horowitz's rejoinder in the next few days.
In there hearts they believe that central control, like communism or socialism is good, because it could care better for people than 'greedy' capitalism. But they fail to acknowledge that human central control, once it becomes corrupted, is far harder to oust and are far more devastating (like Stalins purges etc.). Thus, they deny their own ability to become corrupted. Currently the lefts delusions have gotten them in the position where they are trying to deny that 9/11 ever happened and/or that it was our fault. Thus they have backed themselves into a corner and are flailing wildly (hence John Kerry's flip flops on the war, right at first, then wrong war, wrong time, wrong place)..
The trouble with the left's position with America, is that America didn't buy it despite George Soros's millions, Michael Moore's propaganda movie and a complicit press. America doesn't trust the left to be in power right now, because they still talk like leftists after we've been attacked. Their hearts still care more about health care than terrorists with WMDs.
The latest attacks on the Pope, after he went to be with the Lord, have proven this all the more. The problem is more with their hearts than their minds and will be so as long as they are tied to Bill Clinton. For as long as they justify his immorality they will be tied to it themselves. Being stuck like to a tar baby, there flailing around will make them stick to it even more; killing more Terri's in the process.
