Gay anti-Hillary consultant draws fire from Bill Clinton

NEW YORK -- Former President Bill Clinton says it's ''sad'' that a Republican political consultant who married his male partner is raising funds to defeat Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Clinton said Monday there might be ''some sort of self-loathing'' for Arthur Finkelstein, the longtime GOP operative who helped Gov. George Pataki unseat Democrat Mario Cuomo in 1994.

Finkelstein told the New York Times last week that he had married his partner of 40 years in Massachusetts, saying he believes ''visitation rights, health care benefits and other human relationship contracts that are taken for granted by all married people should be available to partners.'' The marriage took place in December.

Finkelstein is lining up donors to help raise $10 million for a ''Stop Her Now'' committee to defeat the senator's 2006 re-election effort.

At a news conference Monday about his foundation's AIDS initiatives, the former president was asked whether the anti-Hillary efforts made him angry. ''Actually, I was sort of sad when I read it,'' he said.

''I thought, one of two things. Either this guy believes his party is not serious and is totally Machiavellian in its position, or you know, as David Brock said in his great book Blinded by the Right, there's some sort of self-loathing or something. I was more sad for him.''

In the book Clinton was referring to, the formerly conservative Brock says that when he attacked the left he was expressing his own gay self-hatred.

Already posted, but again I can say the sooner the Clinton name is gone from our political scene, the better for this country. Billy's hypocrisy, like that of all leftists, just continues to "educate" us about the complete lack of values, morals, integrity and honesty the left seems to see as a credential...

Bill Clinton is not a "decent" person (in the Mrs. Cheney sense). Apparently homosexuals are not allowed to disagree with Hillary or the Left party line.

Where was Clintoon's sense of outrage and concern when Soros was financing the slimemobile aimed at Dubya?

Interesting how the David Brock, self loathing comment, went unmentioned by the MSM.

No matter what Brock does in this or the next reincarnation of himself, he brought us Paula Jones and for that we are forever indebted to the him.

The Anti Christ and the Great Whore of Babylon.

Apparently homosexuals are not allowed to disagree with Hillary or the Left party line.

You got it. There was a caller on Larry Elder's show earlier this week who claimed to be a gay conservative. He said he got much, much more abuse from other gays about his conservatism than he did from us right-wingers about his homosexuality.

Hey, didn't Clinton sign the 'Defense of Marriage Act'? Yeah, that's right he did. Wouldn't it be a 'self-hating' gay guy who would vote for the significant other of the guy who signed that 'anti-gay' measure into law?

Shut up, Bill. What a freakin' hypocrite.

This is the usual Clinton scenario - get the rebuttal out before the accusation is published. However, in this case it appears to be backfiring, because it's resulting in publicity the book would never have received.
