The administrators should be both fired and charged.

What did they have, 3 violent incidents in a day? Amazing.Give them a break. It was a slow day. Plus, the principals and assistant principals had meetings to attend.
Since there had been previous reports of abuse of this girl on the school bus you would think they would try harder to protect her. Guess not.

On what basis? They broke the law by not notifying police as they are required.
I understand your distinction regarding educrats - and I do like your solution.

Hell hang'em. But only after a good beatin and a day on the ant hill.
And by 'em I mean all those who perpetrated the act, all those who watched and all the administrative staff.

"Uhhhh - have you considered that after witnessing the bungled, amateur surgery, the rest of those "would-be rapists waiting to come off the bench" might well decide that they reaaaally needed to get back to class instead?"
I just considered it and I'm discarding it bcse it's an unrealistic notion. No guys who have the mentality to participate in a gang rape are going to just skip on back to class after something like that. They're going to kick her skull in for hurting their friend. Then, assuming they're too tired from savagely beating her to continue the sexual assault, they're going to resolve that the next time they rape someone, they'll avoid that particular act.

"...an attack videotaped by one student and watched by more than a dozen others who came running as word spread...a student who had a camera for a school project videotaped the alleged assault, illuminated by light from a cell phone. Another witness said at least 15 people were in a room that looked into the auditorium because they had heard what was happening."
The spectators are as sick as the actual perpetrators. How can that many people stand by and watch such a thing happen. Amorality is taking over. Every single person who just stood and watched should be disciplined. I can't believe someone would be so cold as to videotape or helpfully provide lighting from a cell phone. I can't conceive of such a thing being able to occur when I was young. The act, maybe but not the spectator part of it.

My daughter, has three degrees, and was a 4 time Big Ten Scholar Athlete, playing basketball at Ohio State. She is now teaching at a HS in Columbus. She picked the school because she wanted to make a difference.
Last year she was punched in the face by a student, and the administration did nothing. Not only that, there were several riots in the hallways. Security at her HS is virtually nill.
This is her last year in the teaching profession.
Public schools need to take a hard line on the discipline problem, or they will continue to lose good teachers.

Good Lord.
I went to Wakins out in Pataskala and we NEVER had anything like this. Mainly because the teachers wouldnt allow anything to get remotely close to this type of situation. I know Mifflin is a bit different is just about every way imaginable.
Not to blame your daughter at all. She was trying to fix the situation and instead wasnt getting any support from upstairs.
I think her life will be greatly simplified when she gets out of there....

Thanks for your input and understanding, Mike.
One of my nephews teaches at Licking Heights. If you're from Pataskala, I'm sure you know of that school.
He teaches and also coaches football and wrestling there. Thankfully, the HSs that far out of the Columbus City/Southwest have not been subjected to such violence by students.
To: LisaMalia
its in the same town so yeah :)
I wrestled a couple guys from there my junior and senior years....
Heights and Watkins are pretty similar, you could ask him and I am sure he would back it up too. This would not happen in that school district. NO way No how....

That would be Southwest Licking.
I hope you are right about that not happening in that school district.
The sad thing is, my kids went to a very country school in RURAL South-Central Ohio. When my daughter was a Jr. (1996), my son was in Jr. High, and my niece was a Sr. we had a major incident. A kid came in with a loaded gun in his backpack.
He showed it to one of his buddies, and the kid had the smarts to go to the principal and let him know what was going on.
The kid with the gun was in Study Hall at the time, and they called the kids to the office one by one...my niece happened to be the last one called out.
After all the students had been called out of the Study Hall (thank God the kid with the gun didn't panic and start shooting), the sheriff and the principal converged on the kid, grabbed his backpack, and confiscated the gun.
Just goes to show that this kind of thing can happen anywhere.
All of our public schools need to be on lockdown status. (Our little country highschool mentioned above is).
I know that it's sad that it's come to that, but if we want to keep the innocent students and teachers safe, it needs to be done, IMO

Remember she wasn´t coerced, just punched in the face.
The physical ed teacher said the girl had been forced to give oral sex to boys on the bus. And she did what about it?Please tell me you forgot a sarcasm tag...

Watkins went to that when I was a Senior. .....
