Why wouldn't what happened to his daughter be considered an emergency, anyway, esp. since she was fearful and had suffered mental trauma? Is it common practice for Ohio news channels to tape 911 calls, like a police scanner? I understand the school's fear that the enraged father might attack the boys if he saw them in the school, but they could have kept the boys in a locker room or whatever until he'd taken his daughter home. They mishandled this big time and a big fat lawsuit is headed their way.

I am not a big fan of lawsuits, but I wish the crap would get sued out of this school. Sued until it was broke and not viable. Sued until the best thing to do would be burn it down for insurance money. Prefferably with all the staff and teachers in it.

Ah, the joy and hurt of FR ... I just got a hundred or so posts in reply to my posting of the 911 "what do you want us to do, shoot her?" call jumping all over me because the mom "abused" 911 for a fight in progress. I am NOT defending the official as much as taking the media to task for misrepresenting what he said.

Do you think the non-emergency number isn't recorded? Either number would serve the dad equally well in the Ohio case. What the assistant purported to say about the media was in fact a consideration. I'll let you find the other thread and argue with those fine point-splitters about when and when not to use 911. Meanwhile, I'll set my sights on the media coverage.
