The French-educated Ghali has always had exalted tastes. Beginning with his relationship with Sadat in the late nineteen seventies, when he moved from the university to foreign affairs advisor, he became particularly interested in purchasing property in Europe to provide a pied-a-terre for the Ghali family. If Ghali did NOT have his fingers in the food-for-oil pie most UN diplomats would be shocked.
The UN HQ should be moved to a more fitting site, my choice would be Harare, Zim. It would fit right in, and the cost of real estate in Harare is at or near historic lows!
The UN building should go condo, with the assembly hall as new off street parking.
