They also slap their wives and girlfriends around because it makes them feel superior. The Slimes left out the word liberal when it described the type of male that beats women.I can't use the word man to describe a creep who slaps women around to build his own ego.

"There's only one thing that all the women in shelters have in common: bad timing."

Please elaborate. I'm thinking you don't intend to say what it appears to me that you are saying. Thanks.

If a woman is doing the dishes and her husband comes home p*ssed and puts her eye out, is that bad timing?

At the very least, it is insensitive...

Any woman that gets hit by a man the second time has not put him out of her life already.

If my dad was to ever hit my mother, she would have him jailed, press charges and divorce him. My wife is the same way. Neither of them would waste a minute in doing so. That's just the way both of us were raised.

No second chances. A man that hits a woman is as low as a snake's belly in a wagon rut.

I'm hoping I misunderstood, if you know what I mean. Thanks...abtw...that's a great screen name. If you ever decide to sell it, ask me first, ok?

I heard a very crude joke one time: "What is it that all women in shelters have in common? They don't know when to shut up."

I think the joke is way out of line, so I made a truthful statement out of it.

I saw the mother of a high school girlfriend with black eyes on several occasions and she would never leave the creep. BTW, sure enough, that girl has married the same kind of man, and they're still together, black eyes and all.

I think it's pathetic.

My wife and I were just discussing a similar situation. Some of these women are close to incurable in their poor choices.

Thanks for your reply, BCC.

Staying and leaving are a bit more complicated than you seem to think. Not everyone has somewhere to go.

Believe it or not, there are people who didn't know it was coming...and when it arrives it's too late.

For instance...my wife of 34 years is blind in one eye. Her former husband, a really great guy, was never mean. The day she told him she was finally pregnant he was happy. He went to work, but had a really bad day.

She was at the sink when he arrived, and he punched her in the belly a few times, then the face, and stuck a finger in her eye. He left her for dead. She wasn't dead, but the baby was.

Not everyone has a way to get out. Some don't have funds. Some are terrified to leave, as the "spouse" has threatened to kill them or take the kids.

Anyway, I agree with so much you have to say. Your OneTime test is the best way. For some people it isn't possible, and that's what shelters are for.

Society only addresses the problem as a "men's" problem. It is a societal problem that exists between people that are close to each other when one is brutal enough to take advantage of the other that is a weak willed person. I've seen it with queers, lesbians, brothers and sisters, parents and their children, and children with their parents. It is NOT a men's problem.

I have one customer that is a stunningly beautiful woman that has had 3 husbands since I first met her 10 years ago. Since I tend to constantly brag about how good my wife is to me and how great it is to be married to someone so right, she came to me asking to be fixed up with a nice man, because, she said "My man-picker is broken."

She somehow keeps picking guys who have a weakness for methamphetamine.

She was wearing a cross on her neck, so I asked her if that was a fashion statement or a statement of faith. She answered "faith". So I told her to give up on finding a good man, go to church and get into a good relationship with the Lord, and if He feels you are ready for the right guy, the right guy will be there when it is truly right.

If I were a betting man, I would bet for 10 women in the shelter, one being in the "impossible" situation would be an inflated figure.

Not long after, the justice minister, Thomas Bodstroem, declared his own outrage during a November demonstration to protest men's violence against women.

"Let this become an election issue in 2006," he announced. "Silence is a betrayal to all abused women, and a help to all violent men."

Doesn't this goof realize he is a man and, as such, is just as condemned as the rest.

It reminds me of the left cozying up to the Islamists. If the Islamists win, leftists heads are as easily removed as the rest.

That's a really big heart you have there. 1 in 10 means millions of human beings and their children.

I was right the first time. Thanks for clarifying your position.

If all American men were wife and girlfriend abusers, a whole lot more would be dead. I know I'd be dead if I tried anything like that. American women, except the whiny liberal types, are more into direct action than victimhood. At the least we'd see a lot more get the Lorena Bobbit treatment. ouch!
