Pope John Paul II is still here in spirit!
Whoa - For a split second, this name struck me as Sister Jeannine Garafalo. Too freaky to think about.
Looks like the liberals are going to demonize this Pope.
Surfing the net and the comments about His Holiness are absolutely devastatingly cruel and ugly.
I will definitely pray and fast for this man because Satan is not happy with this choice.
Oh, how nice!
Homosexuality is not a "social issue" its a self destructive hedonist behavior that's a result of a mental disorder.
Imagine that--a Church that is still around after 2000 years doesn't change with the political winds... wierd...
Being a practising homo was wrong when I was a child and was still wrong when I was in college. But now it's OK? and we're self-righteously talking about our enlightend pov and how our opponents are keeping us in the Middle Ages?
Perspective please you mouthy nun. It's not about being permissive, not about being taken up with the now, all in the name of undisciplined, sinful tolerance. It's about following God's will not your every lustful desire.
Good grief!
I heard a pundit on CNN say this Pope has "baggage"! And this Nun is mad about it and they were saying on CNN that Catholics in New York were disappointed. LOL!!!!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!! This Pope must be GREAT!!
Why can't God be more tolerant and progressive?
Thankfully Sister Jeannine Gramick doesn't get a vote.
You know a man by his friends, and by his enemies.
I thought she was silenced. So why is she bothering us with her braying??
I am sure the old fart will continue to sit back like PJP and say nothing while hundreds of his gay priests molest little boys, yet speak out against reaching out to those who perhaps need it the most. What a terrible decision the Catholic Church has made today.
Here is what my wife emailed me:
"P.S. I love it: an hour hadn't passed since the anouncement of the new pope, and the MSM was already out in full force bashing him. The libs think that catholic theology and the Bible are like the Constitution: a living, breathing document and therefore subject to interpretation and changes."
I couldn't have said it better! Another loss for the termites!
Catholic liberals are sounding like cry babies when they don't get their way.
MSNBC probably looked far and wide to find a nun who would be critical of the Pope.
"WANTED: News producer wants to interview priest or nun who thinks Catholic Church is too conservative. Softball questions and sympathetic treatment for the right subject assured."
If it's not good enough for her strange interpretation of theology, he must be a good choice.
Sounds like the Vatican chose well, and by listening to the MSM I was worried a Cardinal of Liberation Theology persuasion would be picked. Pope John Paul II is still here in spirit!
I was worried, too, especially given how prevalent and entrenched Liberation Theo is in some places. They did choose well. Pope John Paul II is indeed with us!
From the New Ways Website:
(Just a small exerpt - I'm sure more than enough for anyone!)
"The document (Vatican Statement on same sex marraige) almost implies that the first chapters of Genesis, "in which the voice of nature itself is heard," are a biblical revelation of mandatory heterosexuality, although the latter concept has been defined only by modern science. The relevant passages (Gen.1:26-31; 2:7,18-25) principally reveal the creation of sexual human beings in God's own image. The divine image is neither male nor female, neither heterosexual nor homosexual, and not concerned with marriage. The divine image concerns itself with loving relationships."
"The Vatican document attempts to influence not only civic governmental bodies but also all those who believe in Christ and everyone committed to
the common good. Yet in speaking of the natural moral law, the authors of the document disregard the fact that some religious denominations have blessed homosexual unions for years, without viewing such practices as contrary to scripture, nature, or moral principles."
"Despite the Vaticans persistent view that same-sex unions are harmful to the proper development of human society, some prominent theologians, such as Philip Keane in Sexuality Morality (1977), have long suggested that the Catholic Church itself should find ways of supporting stable homosexual partnerships. In fact, according to John Boswells Same-Sex Unions in Premodern Europe (1994), historically the Church may even have blessed such relationships at certain times and places under more enlightened circumstances."
