President Bush on Tuesday called newly elected Pope Benedict XVI a "man of great wisdom and knowledge."
He is "a man who serves the Lord," Bush said of the pope, formerly Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, who has been a leading church hard-liner.
Bush, standing next to first lady Laura Bush, recalled how they had listened to Ratzinger's homily at Pope John Paul II's funeral 11 days earlier.
"We remember well his sermon at the pope's funeral in Rome, how his words touched our hearts and the hearts of millions," Bush said.

I wonder how much interaction they have previously had.
Snort, snicker...

I'm sure they've had some. Cardinal Ratzinger was one of the top 5 inside guys at the Vatican for Bush's whole presidency.
Bush in the White House,
Bolton in the UN,
Benedict XVI in the Vatican.
The Diabolical Trinity for the Left. ;)

Ivan, what time is it over there? You have been all over the threads on Benedict XVI today. I have been scanning between patients since I watched live in my waiting room.
I am beyond pleased with this selection too.

Statement from Senator John Kerry on Pope Benedict XVI
Washington, D.C. - Senator John Kerry issued the following statement on the Vaticans announcement of Pope Benedict XVI:
The election of a new pope is a great moment of hope, renewal and possibility for the Catholic church. Like all Catholics, Teresa and I pray for the Holy Father, extend our hopes for the Church, and hope that Pope Benedict XVIs pontificate will touch the world in the same way Pope John Paul II did, reaching out to all people everywhere to find common ground, and guiding the faithful in a time of challenge and change across the globe.

Nothing yet from Miss America, Nancy Pelosi.
The Communist News Network (CNN) website is running a poll...with predictable results. (A Freeping opportunity if you can stand sight of the webpage.)
Thus, a very good thing happened today in Vatican city by all accounts.
CNN and Chris Matthews on MSNBC are going out of their way to interview every apostate Catholic around. They are beside themselves.
Bush and Benedict XVI might be cut from the same cloth!??
I see the CINOs are checking in for the left.
**CNN and Chris Matthews on MSNBC are going out of their way to interview every apostate Catholic around. They are beside themselves.**
Probably direct orders from Ted Turner who hates Catholics and Christians and stated that they are wimps and losers.
Well, I guess two out of three isn't bad.
Does the swimmer dare go to Mass and receive Communion?
