"ummm.....HELLO? A computerized database, is not the SAME as the INTERNET! One does not need to access the Internet, to access one's DATABASE! That is DIFFERENT!"

To "access one's DATABASE"? Whose database? What the devil are you talking about?

I use the internet to access databases (in both the technical and colloquial sense) all the time. I use the internet to access Westlaw and Lexis too. Most everybody does.

Are you under the impression that there is some electronic vehicle other than the internet that courts, governmental agencies, legislatures (including the U.S. congress), law libraries, law schools, law reviews, law journals, arbitration bodies, securities exchanges, etc., etc. post their information to? If you are suggesting that, might I ask what this mysterious electronic vehicle is? I'd really like to know.

"But that isn't what Kennedy utilized!"

Ok, what did he "utilize"? And while you're at it, maybe you can explain why whatever he "utilized" for research, even if it was the internet, was so outrageous?

"Oh and why the avoidance in his use of seeking INTERNATIONAL LAW to support his CRIME?"

His crime? My word. He referenced international norms regarding execution of juveniles in the process of deciding the case before him under U.S. law. I frankly don't see the purpose in that, and question whether international norms should have any bearing on U.S. death penalty cases, but that's called disagreement. People who disagree with you haven't committed a "crime" for crying out loud.

I wonder why Harry Reid's comments on SCJ Clarence Thomas were omitted from this AP story?

Strange....

To bypass the US CONSTITUTION, in favor of utilizing and leaning on INTERNATIONAL LAW, to rule on a US SUPREME COURT case, is a CRIME in my book!

I don't live over seas, do you? I EXPECT American Judges, to utilize AMERICAN LAW when deciding AMERICAN court cases!

As for the INTERNET? Again, an inhouse data base, is quite different than accessing a VULNERABLE Internet!

Can you say with 100% certainty that all info on the Internet is 100% accurate and 100% safe?

Now Pharmacists are Under Attack Nationwide! Courtesy of Barbara Boxer.....
Boxer Has NO Respect for Personal Rights, Only Politics!

Since Illinois Governor's Executive Order forcing ALL Pharmacies to fill prescriptions regardless of their moral or religious beliefs has hit the national news, now Boxer has seen a chance to grab some limelight to make it a FEDERAL LAW! This would take away the State's rights that have already passed laws to protect Pharmacists from this political tyranny, and other states now working on the same type of laws.

Can someone add THIS article to: http://straightupwsherri.blogspot.com/

I don't have a clue!

"To bypass the US CONSTITUTION, in favor of utilizing and leaning on INTERNATIONAL LAW, to rule on a US SUPREME COURT case, is a CRIME in my book!"

How did he "bypass the U.S. Constitution"? Do you have in mind some particular part of the Constitution that he ostensiby "bypassed"?

And while you personally think that making reference to international standards is a crime, where (other than your idiosyncratic "book") is that crime codified?

"I EXPECT American Judges, to utilize AMERICAN LAW when deciding AMERICAN court cases!"

He did.

"As for the INTERNET? Again, an inhouse data base, is quite different than accessing a VULNERABLE Internet!"

Are you imagining that the Supreme Court actually has an in-house database that incorporates all of the available information on the internet from governmental agencies, legislatures, libraries, state and federal courts, etc. etc.? That would be quite a database.

And what do you mean by "vulnerable"? Are you afraid that if the Justices do any research on the internet they might have their thoughts stolen or highjacked?

"Can you say with 100% certainty that all info on the Internet is 100% accurate and 100% safe?"

What kind of nonsensical argument is this? Can you say with certainty that all of the information contained in printed form is 100% accurate? And what does "100% safe" mean? Are you afraid that Justice Kennedy is getting "unsafe" information?

Neither you nor Justice Kennedy are children. It is generally expected of adults that they will vet, filter and use information with discretion and perspicacity, especially well educated adults.

Now, you still haven't told me what, precisely, is so outrageous about a Supreme Court Justice doing research on the internet.

Here's a "two fer."

Please call your Republican Congresspersons AND two U.S. senators and tell them to support Tom DeLay.

Get you Congressman's office number here: http://www.house.gov/ and tell them to support Tom DeLay.

Here's the "two-fer" part:

While you are talking with your senator's office, to tell them to support Tom DeLay, please also tell them you want them to vote to end a filibuster by a simple majority as the Constitution requires.

If you don't know your U.S. senators phone number, you can find it here:

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Whether your U.S. senators are Republican or Democrat, please call them to vote to end the filibusters.

Get your U.S. senators' number here:

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Get you Congressman's office number here: http://www.house.gov/ and tell them to support Tom DeLay.
