I know -- we went from a few of us to a lot of us. Sen Allen was very impressive and a no-nonsense approach type person. When he talked about the Constitutional option it was when not "if" and that all the Senators had sworn an oath and it was their responsibility to uphold their oath.

Bet he is ready to wring Voinvovich's neck too -- all three of the Senators Allen, Inhofe, and Coburn are anti-UN in its current role and were not afraid to stand up and talk about how the UN is spending millions and lining pockets of a few.

I also think Casey is going to run a different campaign this time (he had a bunch of Clintonistas telling him to go very negative and it does not match his style). If Casey gets elected - Dems calling themselves pro-life are gonna come out of the woodwork - the same way everyone stopped being anti-gun all of a sudden.

Santorum will pay for swinging to the left. And so it goes.

Your argument is dumb.

Santorum is an incumbent. The most vulnerable incumbent the GOP has, and IMO not the favorite in the race.

You think GOP should just rollover and give up on an incumbent if his chances of winning are low?

I didn't say it wasn't impossible. His odds aren't 1 in 100.. It all depends on your definention of a longshot. I don't know about you. I rate a 1 in 4 chance (25%), a long shot in a 2 horse race.

I'll bet my money on the horse with a 75% chance and win 3 out every 4 times.

I live in PA, and I'm sick of Santorum for supporting specter, but I won't vote for a democrat.

That's what makes Casey so dangerous. A positive campaign for him will win, and attacking him is a very delicate situation.

Santorum is between a rock in a hard place. If he attacks Casey harshly, there's going to be backlash. He's the "Baby Jesus" of Pennsylvania politics.

If Casey comes out with a smile on his face, and a positive attitude, he's going to win in a 6+ point breeze.

Well, now that we've settled that.

Dear Moose2004,

There are a couple of things you need to take into consideration:

First, Bob Casey Jr. has the Casey name. His father is very popular as well as Jr. Santorum doesn't.

Sencond, in order for a republican to win the state of Pennsylvania, you need to carry the Poconos, and the Scranton area. Casey Jr. is very popular in those areas and people there love him. He has been elected there as the treasurer many times!! He was also born and raised there and he and his family are very popular in the Scranton area.

Finally, the most important thing is that Bob Casey Jr. is Pro-Life. Santorum can't go against him on that and that is what Santorum ran his campaign on in 2000.

Sorry, but Santorum has no chance. His approval rating among Republicans is 49 percent. Santorum is going down!!!!!!

Sorry, but I don't buy your premise, Santorum will win. Casey has already backtracked on the issue of federal judges (he said he stands with the dem minority on filibustering Bush's nominees), an issue that will hurt him among conservative pro-life Catholics, a group he needs in order to win. Nice try.
