The school system, which is not required to inform police of these crimes, has been bombarded with complaints by parents that school officials ignored the victims or downplayed sexual assaults, including a number of incidents involving young girls attacked on local school buses. What? The school system is not required to report crimes? I wonder how that particular loophole got into the law. You can be sure that anyone in a private organization who covered up violent crimes would be in deep trouble.

I heard yesterday that colleges and universities are not required to report sexual predators residing in on-campus housing. I find this outrageous!
