Drinking 1-2 quarts of green tea a day, I'm gonna live forever!

Damn, I have a box of it right here in my desk drawer - and I'm a diabetic, too! But I'll be damned if I'll drink it by the quart.

Well, I do it a mug at a time, not all at once.

Several months ago and older MD was touting his new book on Fox & Friends. (My apologies, I didn't catch his name or the book title.) It was a compilation of home remedies than he had researched with recommendations of the ones that actually worked. He suggested eating a teaspoon of cinnamon each day for a natural way to lower blood sugar. I was paying attention at that point as I have an employee with diabetes.
I mentioned the practice to my employee and also to our bugman - a gent who suffers from diabetes as well. Both reported to me that their sugar levels dropped. The bugman was so impressed by it that he called me at home one evening to thank me for telling him about it. It might be worth a try.

What happens if you are a Southerner who drinks sweetened iced tea all the time? Do you have to drink black iced tea without sugar?

I've heard that cinnamon is a statin-good for reducing cholesterol, not insulin.

I'm a Type II diabetic and I can attest to the fact that a teaspoon of cinnamon per day does lower my blood sugar levels.
I mix a teaspoon into my daily serving of oatmeal. (Quaker Old Fashioned Oats done in the microwave.) It smells and tastes great!

The report on cinnamon said that it lowers both cholesterol and glucose in the blood. What a great, cheap way to fix two problems at once! I add it to my morning coffee. I guess I should try it with tea and have a super healthy drink.

Hello, your recommendation is right on. However, I have read that taking the large doses of cinnamon required isn't healthy (as certain parts of it contain toxins which can build up). Scientists have created a water soluble extract of cinnamon which exhibits the benefical properties you describe, but without the potential build up of toxins. It is called "Cinnulin PF" and more info can be found at www.cinnulinpf.com. A cheap distributor of the CinnulinPF is www.beyond-a-century.com. They also sell green tea powders, one is 40% polyphenols and a cup of it is equivalent to 4 cups of regular green tea.
They sell many bulk powders at incredible prices, I highly recommend them.
