Although I would like to see the Simpsons do something on this, there is one other cartoon that would be even better covering the issue ;)
Her permanent record says she has an annoying tendency towrds "knowitallism".
My dear departed grandmother in Webster used to grab the "Industrial Grade" yard stick if my sisters and I got too boisterous with our skylarkings. If it went to the level of Monkeyshines, well, we all would have had red thighs from a quick shot from the yard stick. As I have always said, " Never let it reach the level of a monkeyshine!"
That Bush 41 episode is one of my favorites. I love it when Gerald Ford moves in at the end.
Gerald Ford: "Tell me, Homer, do you like football?"
Homer Simpson: "Yes, Mr. President!"
Ford: "Do you like Nachos?"
Homer: "Yes sir!"
Ford: "How about you come over and watch the game, and we'll have some nachos. And then, some beer."
Then they both fall down and say "D'oh!"
Me too! I always like when he has the cardboard cut-outs of Jeb and GWB. "Bar! The boys are here!"
"Are there any questions?" (Every hand goes up) "Not about my hair." (All hands go down)
>>I'm not saying they don't poke at the left sometimes, but the show has become, in construct, quite liberal.
One episode showed a truck for the Fox News Channel stopping to cover a news event, and loudspeakers emerged from it, playing "We Are The Champions" (i.e., to point out that nasty _conservative_ bias Fox supposedly has).
Was I offended? No, I laughed! We ARE the champions and if
they wanna portray Fox or FNC as being cheerleaders for the Right, fine with me.
...said episode aired after W's second win, of course
