For only 10 grand they could hire "Dr.Castration"to handle the job.

So we're going to reward sex offenders by paying them? Surely these creative people could come up with a cheaper way of convincing the guy to move out.

Good point. This thread inspired me to do a check on my states web site. I typed in my zip code, only to discover, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE. Unless you move to someplace mythical like Oz, or North Dakota, there is no escape.

So it has come to this. How utterly sad for all of us. And how could you sell your house there in good conscience without letting the buyer know 'oh yeah, along with that one little leak in the roof - there is a sex offender next door'.

I'm afraid he'd want to move if he lived on my street, and i knew he was a sexual predator.

geez - how about kicking in $.50 for a bullet - after what's happening in Florida it is about time for vigilante action. If the law won't take care of these creeps then the neighborhood should. Sorry if that sounds harsh but IMHO child molesters should be shot if not something worse....

What if they pay 20k then the guy decides not to leave? The idea is that they will not resort to the "final solution" to rid themselves of the problem, and the criminal knows this, so why would he fear their repurcussions if he decided to take the money and stay? It's kind of like betting the rent money on a pair of 5's, and the guy your playing is a millionaire - it ain't gonna scare him off.

Personally, I think people who molest children should get the death penalty.

After all, a destroyed life is a destroyed life, whether the victim is still breathing or not!

That's always the risk with a bribe. The consequences here are much worse than just the loss of the money. The guy is just gonna go off to some other town and molest some other towns kids. And $20K in his pocket makes the molestation that much easier.

Unfortunately, as soon as you do this it creates an incentive for other perverts to move to the neighborhood look for their payout..... I don't think it can solve the problem....

"after what's happening in Florida it is about time for vigilante action.

Yeah, fire away. Then the police will riddle your body with bullets. How will your family feel about that? Take the law into your own hands and you can start digging your own grave. Fast.

"Take the law into your own hands and start digging your own grave"
I'm glad you brought that issue up,Windsong.Too many people on this board cavalierly advocate deadly violence and maimings without understanding the consequences.
You may eliminate a menace to society but do you really think the judge is going to throw out your case cause the alleged perp was a child molesting pervert or communist symp?
I bet most all of us on this board have responsible jobs-some,like myself, have TWO-,kids who love us,friends who value us and enjoy all the perks of living in this country.
Be real-are you going to throw that all away and risk life in prison to satiate your deep-and,yes,sometimes very justifiable-anger?
I doubt it.I really doubt it.

The country goes further downhill everyday. The mafia said they would be legal one day.

The states legalized and run the old numbers racket [lottery].

The banks with their anybody can have a credit card or a loan no matter your credit if you pay ungodly interest and late charges for the rest of your life have replaced the loan sharks.

Now we have citizens paying criminals for protection.

Whatever happened to a tall tree and a short rope?
