You guys are the greatest!
In support of counter protesting code pink, I have taken a few steps of my own. I have found some bright pink T's at a local large chain discount store. I plan to wear a lot of Pink all summer with anti code pink /lefty messages ironed on. Code Pinko has a lot of plans for the summer and I;m going to use pink shirts to fight back.
My heart is with you every Friday night.
That sounds like a perfect message to put on a sign. I wish I could make a run up there. Dummy here broke her ankle. All because I turned to speak to a dog. LOL!!!!
That would be a great sign!
Got my train ticket for next Friday. See ya there.
Great recap....SCREW the PINKOS.
Since I will be coming down for the Sat. Wash. Press Corp sassFreep, I will do my best to come a day early and be with you guys.
Straight down Georgia Ave, it's Exit 32 off the Beltway. Only a few miles in.
You nailed it.
The Pinkos wanted to provoke and start violence to embarrass us, get more publicity as a results of conflicts, and make us look like the bad guys in the eyes of liberal journalists. We're gone out of our way to avoid direct confrontation with the Pinkos or giving the leftist an opportunity to engage in their usual violence.
Provocative and threatening behavior was Code Pink's response during our first FReep of them at Walter Reed as follows:
Last of three leftists who came to disrupt our event was a guy that I call Southern man because of his terrible, phony Southern accent. Like the first infilitrating leftist, Southern man had a "Kill the Poor" sign and he tried to pretend that he was one of us. He spouted nonense that far-leftists think that conservatives believe: gsve a racist, homophobic, kill 'em all speech. By standing in with us, they tried to discredit us with their two ridiculous signs. We asked them repeatedly to rejoin their Pink pals on the opposite corner. Both the first two leftists, who came together, and the last leftist, who came later, denied that they were with Code Pink (CP). We asked them to go to one of the other two unused corners, instead of interfering with our freedom of speech. They refused.
All three leftists fled together after Southern man realized that the police would come, eventually, to investigate his claim to have a gun on him. They left before the police officer arrived and Southern man took off his jacket and changed his outer clothes to avoid being picked up. (Not that it mattered much since Officer Barney Fife was more interested in whether we had a protest permit rather than in pursuing an erratic guy who shouted about killing people and then claimed to have a gun in his pocket.)
The two "Kill the Poor" signs that the three leftists brought were thrown on the ground 20 feet from the scene of their brownshirt disruption of freedom. Thus, they littered on their way to escape justice. After all, if they had properly taken their signs, they might have been more easily picked up if any police actually cared to search for a lunatic who claims to have a gun.
Mapquest.com suggests that the best way from Columbia is to go:
take US-29 S toward COLUMBIA TOWN CENTER. 20.3 miles
Turn LEFT onto US-29/GEORGIA AVE NW. 1.3 miles
End at 7200 Georgia Ave Nw, Washington, DC US
As Doctor Raoul posted, it is only a couple miles into DC at the top of the diamond shape area that is DC.
More detailed directions can be obtained from http://www.mapquest.com or http://maps.google.com/.
I'll also check with a couple FReepers from your general area who MIGHT be able to give you a ride. If they can I'll ask them to FReepmail you.
Hope to see you there one way or another.
GREAT JOB!!! Keep up the good work! Thank you!!!
I did see the below as posted by tgslTakoma.
Hope that you can make it this coming Friday. FReepmail if you need a ride from a hotel (or a Metro station) as Walter Reed is about 2/3 miles from the nearest Metro station. If you want a ride, please FReepmail me your cellphone no.
Activists see deception in night arrivals at Walter Reed (CODE PINK/BARF ALERT - Stars & Stripes)

WASHINGTON Steeling against rain and cold night air, clutching candles and placards, a group of activists are standing nightly vigils at the entrance to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, protesting what they believe is the Pentagons attempt to hide the human toll of the war in Iraq.
With wounded troops arriving from Germany, where most receive treatment after being stabilized in the field, flights to the United States are arranged so that soldiers are admitted into Walter Reed for follow on care at night.
When we first heard about this, we were appalled, said vigil organizer Gael Murphy, part of nationwide grass roots womens group dubbed Code Pink. Why are they bringing them in only at night? Is it because they dont want the media to cover it? Is it because they dont want Americans to see the real cost of this war?
No, say military officials.
Night arrivals are beneficial to the patient, as they allow for a regular night of sleep, and then for doctors in Europe to make final determination on their ability to make the long flight, move patients from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, and board the plane, wrote Walter Reed spokeswoman Lyn Kurkal, in a prepared statement.
Thanks to all for the kind words.
For those who wanted to join in the peaceful protests against Code Pink, but DC is too far away from you, Code Pink may be coming to a neighborhood near you as part of two campaigns that they have planned. That will provide you with the chance to join in the fun and FReep at a location nearer to you.
Code Pink has a counter-recruitment plan to harrass military recruitment offices across the country on Saturday, May 7 (and possibly May 6).
Also, Code Pink founders Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans are going on a book tour starting next weekend to promote a new book.
I'll try to ping you to threads (not yet posted) on those activities, but in case I forget to ping you, please check back for threads at this address every week:

Thanks for the kind words. See my #34.
BTTT!
I'm back home, sorry to have missed the fun last Friday night. If I get a hall pass for this Friday night, I'll see y'all then!
Exit148... you have warm hands. Thank you.
:-)
I can't help it - whenever I see a photo of that banner, I think "What's a two dollar terrorist?"
Delayed bump!
My web hosting company changed last year, followed by my hard drive failure, with great difficulty recovering data from backup. Im finally putting photos back on my web site so the photos will be available. Ill probably do 3 or 4 sets per day when Im home, but may be traveling for a while so that it may take about 5 weeks to finish all Walter Reed threads.
The html on this report didn't work when first posted. Here are two photos with hyperlinked larger versions that were missing from the report. Simply (after over an hour of trying to figure out the problem) changing the names of the photos so they didn't include the word "banner" fixed the problem.
Manning the MOAB (Mother of All Banners) are (L-R) Trueblackman, kristinn, and BufordP.
