For the third time in just over 3 weeks, DC Chapter FReepers conducted a FReep of Code Pink's anti-war protest at the gate of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where many of the most severely wounded troops from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken for continued treatment and rehabilitation. The FReep of the leftists' obscene blood dance was on the night of Friday, April 22.
The honor roll of those in attendance: kristinn, Trueblackman, BufordP, and BillF. The FReep went forward despite drizzle at the beginning and the threat of heavy rain, which never materialized. My photos are below, but I didn't take many in the drizzle, cold, and dark.
(The announcement of the FReep is here, which also includes after-action report on last week's round II FReep of Code Pink's weekly Friday night attempts to exploit our war wounded for propaganda. Code Pink (CP) pretends to support our troops, but Code Pink leader Medea Benjamin has bragged about the $650 K that her groups raised for "the other side" (her words) in Fallujah, Iraq. The first round FReep of CP a couple weeks back is described here and included CP sending three disruptors to stand next to us, one of them ranting about killing people and saying that he had a gun in his pocket, and then the three fleeing just ahead of the police.)
In view of the poor conditions, we only deployed the MOAB (Mother of All Banners) with its message:
CODE PINK
KILLS AMERICAN TROOPS
GIVING $ 2 TERRORISTS
On this night, the Code Pinkos had eleven at their peak, but probably averaged about 7 during the whole time. We had some brief interactions with a couple Pinkos.
One Pinko woman got out of her cab just in front of us and talked with kristinn and others of us for about 5 minutes. kristinn can provide details of his discussions, but it centered around the Code Pinko affiliated woman killed by a terrorist car bomb in Iraq during the last week. Paraphrasing here from my brief conversation, the Pinko told me that "we're here to support the troops." I told her, "if you think that they're killers [i.e., as they are referred to on the CP web site] why do you support them?" She said, "we support them because we don't think that they should be sent over to kill in the first place." I said, "You're not here to support them. You're here to exploit war wounded for your twisted propaganda purposes."
When the Pinko woman was near us, the Pinkos across the street were singing something. I think it was "I'd like to buy the world a Coke, it's the real thing" or some such, but I couldn't hear it very well.
Later a Pinko guy walked by us and made a snide remark.
We had two veterans stop to chat with us.
A retired Marine walked up to us and talked for quite a while. He talked mainly with Trueblackman. TBM can provide any details that he cares to provide, but the ex-Marine was not at all happy about the Pinkos. He wanted to go over and at least give them a piece of his mind. TBM persuaded him that they had the right to demonstrate, that the Constitution that the ex-Marine had sworn to uphold required him to not interfere with their rights, and that he should not do anything to get himself in trouble.
An Army guy (maybe former?) pulled up his truck and complained that we should be supporting the troops. The guy pointed to a war wound that he suffered in Iraq. BufordP explained that we were supporting the troops and explained that the Code Pinkos were on the opposite side of the street. Buford tried to discourage him from going over to the leftists, but the guy pulled his truck up to the Pinkos. Apparently, words were exchanged. Guy got out of his truck and more words were exchanged and then the guy had a minor struggle with one of the Pinko guys. We couldn't see that well as this was across the street, but the struggle was probably less than 30 seconds and might have included a push or a grab. Guy got back in his truck and drove away.
As happened the last two times we came out, Code Pink left before us.
We relocated to an undisclosed location for post-FReep food and drink, celebrating another fun and victorious FReep.
Please join us next Friday night or another Friday per below. As this is a continuing weekly FReep, we will add reports of future FReeps in this series to this thread.

DC Chapter co-leader kristinn has confirmed that we shall continue FReeping the Code Pinkos every Friday night until they stop their obscene blood dance outside the hospital of our war-wounded.
If you agree with me that it is outrageous for Code Pinkos to demonstrate at a hospital with war-wounded troops inside, please come out and join us in a peaceful counter-protest.
Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.
Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB, other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future.
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.
Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
start at 7 to 7:30 pm and go to about 10 pm
Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW
Code Pinkos have been setting up on the southwest corner of the Georgia Ave/Elder St intersection. We've been setting up on the northeast corner across the street from Walter Reed's entrance gate.
DC Chapter mega-ping!
If you're in the DC area, please join us next Friday night and Friday nights after that.
I guess I'll have something to do during R&R!!!
I am soooo proud of the D.C. Chapter!
And Envious!!
Thanks for the report and all you do. Support the troops BUMP!
It'll be good to have you join us, but the Pinkos may cancel the series in fear of your arrival.
Thanks for the ping.
Awesome work! Only suggestion is to take more pictures!
Thank you DC Freepers.
You Blue-Staters have all the fun. Good work! :)
I'll bring my flip-flops and body armor.
I'll taunt them with stories of the terrorists we're catching with biometrics. Their dream of big brother is being used against the criminals they sponsor.
I'll remind them that they're safe because W chose the time and place to confront the people that Code Pinko funded.
They have no clue that the criminals they have financed would kill them without hesitation or remorse.
Would that be a good sign?
"The criminals you financed would kill you"
I usually try to take more pictures, but the drizzle, cold, and dark limited the number. Also, there wasn't that much to photograph.
I took more photos of the Pinkos, but flashes don't work from across the street in the dark. Cars block your view.
Has the local press EVER covered or exposed these rotten people for what they are doing?
I'd like to come down next Friday. What's a good way to get there from Columbia, MD, to the North?
Is anybody coming from this direction that I could carpool with? I really hate driving in the D.C. area. I get lost nearly every time, and always manage to drive through the worst parts of town.
When I have to visit my companies HQ in Crystal City, I drive all the way around the beltway and get on the Jeff Davis Highway. That way I don't have to get on the surface streets in D.C.
I am sorry we could not attend last night. I got out of work too late to go.
HHC and I will try to attend a future one. 'Pod
Let me guess, he made the snide remark as he was walking away. That's standard operating procedure for a leftist.
Way to go gang!
You guys rock! I wish I lived closer so I could join you!!
I lead a PW chapter and have had several run-ins with those "pink" ladies; I absolutely loathe them! Great work all of you, Keep it up!
A.A.C.
The DC Chapter is FANTASTIC.
All of you guys are the greatest. Thanks for supporting the troops and for standing up to Code Pinko. I still wish they wouldn't have hijacked the feminine color pink.
great story and great job. I wish I lived near the DC area, i'd come out too.
