"They are in sharp contrast with the almost 80% of all Republicans who neither espouse nor support the social agenda of the religious right."

I'd like to see some figures for that, since it would require about 90% of the population to be pro-abortion and pro-gay marraige.

You can call me a "Luke Warm Conservative" if you like...Doesn't matter to me because I know what I am (And no...I don't call myself a "Conservative" because I have too much respect for true Conservatives). Personally, I call myself a South Park Republican...Or a Broken Glass Republican.

I vote for the Republican in the race, every time, because I detest democrats/liberals. Period.

I find it interesting that the writer mentions Emily's List because I have no doubt that she is in total accord with Emily on the issues of abortion, euthanasia and same sex marriage. Further, in my opinion, this is the primary reason for the new PAC.

As someone who is not religious and does not fall in the category of "far right religious fundamentalists" "...reactionaries on social issues such as abortion and marriage.." I still oppose killing unborn children and want to preserve the bedrock of civilization, the family. And, according to the above, I am therefor a RINO. Isn't the Republican Party platform clear on the party's opposition to abortion and in defense of marriage? Sounds like a contradiction to me. Is it any wonder with leaders like this that the Broward Republican Party is the weakest in the state?
Finally, the anti-religious bigotry displayed above is not a Republican trait. Honest Republicans disagree on certain issues but should never dismiss a fellow Republican because of his religion or race. By the way, wasn't it the tremendous turnout of evangelical Christians on election day last November a major factor in the election of a Republican president? And we are supposed to jettison those people right out of the party because they are RINOs?

It boils down to anti-family, anti-baby, anti-religion zealotry.
