Why are these the only two candidates that out poll Hillary? Would love to see George Allen with a 5-7 point lead in a Poll like this.
Election 2008: McCain 45% Clinton 38% Survey of 1,000 Adults

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 27, 2005--Given a choice between Republican John McCain and Democrat Hillary Clinton, 45% of Americans today say they'd vote for McCain. Thirty-eight percent (38%) for Clinton.
If the Republican in the race was Rudy Giuliani, it's a toss-up--42% for Giuliani and 40% for Clinton.
Both Republicans in the poll are viewed favorably by 48% of Americans. Giuliani is viewed unfavorably by 25%, McCain by 24%.
Senator Clinton is viewed favorably by 41% and unfavorably by 42%. Rasmussen Reports published a Hillary Meter every other week to track the former First Lady's effort to move towards the political center.
Giuliani does a bit better than McCain among Republican voters while McCain makes slightly bigger inroads among Democrats.
Among those not affiliated with either major party, McCain leads Clinton 38% to 29%. Clinton leads Giuliani 36% to 30% among unaffiliateds.
Demographic details are available for Premium Members.
In his quest for the 2000 Presidential nomination, McCain was far more successful in open primaries that allowed Democrats and unaffiliateds to participate. He was notably unsuccessful in Republican only primaries.
Sixty-four percent (64%) of conservatives have a favorable opinion of Giuliani. Just 51% have a favorable opinion of McCain.
Self-identified liberals are evenly divided in their opinion of Giuliani (35% favorable, 37% unfavorable). However, liberals have a far more positive view of McCain (45% favorable, 26% unfavorable).
Despite the more positive opinion of McCain, liberal voters would vote for Clinton over McCain by a 71% to 16% margin.

Now, this cruel! I am sorry for McCain, because this is going to boost his ego!... and eventually this will cause him great pain. Not to mention the big PainITA** he will be for the GOP. :)
The picture is priceless. Right on the money. It is still staggering how THE ARROGANCE OF THIS POWER-LUSTING MARXIST allows her to think she is in ANY WAY QUALIFIED to be President of this country, let alone Commander-In-Chief of a military she and her Marxist ilk hate!!!
Sheer lunacy.
I'm voting for Hayes!
If McCain had perfect health, I wouldn't vote for him. I don't trust him or Hillary! I think Democrats voted for him in open primaries in 2000, but I don't think they would support him against a Democrat opponent.
You mean to tell me if Clinton was running against Giuliani or McCain you would not vote or worse vote for the Hildebeast??
Note to the GOP:
I am NOT voting for McCain
you like the sound of Madame President do ya?
If given a choice between Rudy and McLame I'd choose Rudy. Both are liberal republicans but rudy gets the edge because he's sane......which is probably a good thing for a President.
"I'd vote for McCain and I'd vote for Giuliani."
I am in complete agreement for the same reason, ALMOST ANYONE is better than Hillary and i would have to hold my nose and vote for either one of these guys
Just shoot me now, please.
LOL!
If Rasmussen did a real poll of those who are from the GOP grassroots(instead of "adults"), I believe the results would have been different.
Guiliani is the only one who's a bigger superstar than Hillary. Plus he's an orator and articulate, something totally unknown in Repub circles.
McCain screwed us on RKBA, taxes, the bogus campaign finance reform crap, etal. No way I could ever vote for him...
It's almost all about name recognition now. McCain and Giuliani are national figures. Nobody outside Allen's and Sanford's states know who they are, apart from the kind of political junkies who hang out here.
Yep!
As far as I am concerned, either one of the three is as bad as the other.
If the Republicans insist on running either of these two and hillary wins, so be it.
I am not pleased at all with what the Republicans have done after the '04 election.
The thing that all three have in common is they will have a harder time getting the nomination then they would winning in a general election. McCain has zero chance at the GOP nomination. Rudy has a very slim chance. And Hillary has about a 20% chance of winning the Dem nomination. The media loves these candidates better than their party base.
Stop it....your scaring me.
Name recognition! The average person nationally has never heard of George Allen. In 2.5 years, once candidates start formally entering the race, the name recognition issue will taper down and will turn more towards stances on issues. It is really way to early for the average person to be thinking about this.
True Name Recognition is the thing right now but none of the others have even remotely mentioned to the media that they may run. We Freepers keep mentioning who we would like to run but other than Frist, Pataki or Guiliani none of the others have even mentioned 2008. Of course its real early for us but its not too early for them if they are interested to start raising money. The more money they have the better the campaign!
Through to the 16th post and you are the only one who gets it, so far.
I guarantee McCain will never, I repeat, never be nominated. And Hillary will never be elected president, of this country, anyway. Take that to the bank! ;)
The GOP better listen up the conservative base is NOT voting for McCain. If that gets us Hitlery then fine at least I know my enemy and we may start to get a RINO congress with some backbone.
