Air America probed after 'Bush gunshots.'
WorldNetDaily ^ | April 27, 2005 | Worldnet daily

Federal officials are reviewing a skit broadcast on the liberal Air America network that featured an apparent gunshot warning to President Bush.

The audio production came during the opening minutes of a href="http://www.therandirhodesshow.com/randirhodes/index.php">"The Randi Rhodes show Monday night, according to the Drudge Report.

The announcer said: "A spoiled child is telling us our Social Security isn't safe anymore, so he is going to fix it for us. Well, here's your answer, you ungrateful whelp: [audio sound of four gunshots being fired.] Just try it, you little bastard. [audio of gun being cocked]."

"What is with all the killing?" Rhodes said, laughing, after the clip aired.

But a government source told Drudge, "Even joking about shooting the president is a crime, let alone doing it on national radio ... we are taking this very seriously."

The Democrats are out of control. Anyone Rino who tries to make nice to them is a traitor.

The Democrats are out of control.

Reminds me of the cafe press "Kill Bush" t-shirts a few days ago.

From Drudge:

AIR AMERICA HOST RANDI RHODES APOLOGIZED WEDNESDAY FOR THE NETWORK'S AIRING OF A CLIP WHICH APPEARED TO TIE A GUNSHOT THREAT TO PRESIDENT BUSH... 'IT WAS A LAME ATTEMPT AT HUMOR, I APOLOGIZE... IT WAS BAD'...

Apparently someone pointed out the political incorrectness of Randi's "humor".

And I'll bet this gets almost zero airplay tonight on the news and cable channels. Yet - Bill Frist appearing at a church is somehow dangerous.

Skit on killing the President = Good.

Bill Frist appearing before Christians at a service = Bad.

Remember one of Kerry's attempts at humor during the campaign was to joke about taking a rifle to the debate with Bush.

ehhh, I bet nothing will happen to Rhodes and giving this story airtime will just give publicity to a failing radio network.

The only way he would've prevailed in his debates. Even in the first debate that he allegedly won, he called for the foreign approval before the U.S. would take pre emptive action to defend itself.

I think they're indicative of the feeling these Democrats have for the President. I have never seen this level of hatred for any President and that includes Bill Clinton.

Pres. Bush cost the libbies their power -- no matter what his personality -- and they're going to be very very nasty about it.

"They are as much threat as a group of kittens plotting to topple the Matterhorn."

Not really. The Left never learns. That is because, from THEIR point of view, they CANNOT be taught. Thay are NEVER wrong about ANYTHING. Since they cannot be humbled they are dangerous. They WILL start shooting eventually because they are our moral superior and they are outraged. It's that simple.

The linked article in this particular thread contains more info than the previous stories. Also, different source. Different source + additional details = not a duplicate post.

Thanks for the post I hadn't seen it. In fact I lost it, then had to scroll down the page to find it again. I don't get the folks that snipe at others for repeat posts or spelling or paragraphs. I guess I'll always just be a lurker never a righteous Freeper. But the serious News/Activism posts like this one I still find to be with out equal anywhere.

Thing is it would almost be better to totally ignore this, because it is clearly a pathetic attempt by a pathetic radio station to get ratings the only way it knows how, to peddle hate.......

John Kerry sermonizing in churches for several Sundays during the Presidential election campaign in contravention of electoral law = also good?

I appreciate your remarks. I regret to say that I inadvertently didn't copy all of the post from the Worldnetdaily and forget to add the less than sign to the beginning of the attempt by me to make the hyperlink.

Better luck next time, I hope.

Yeah.... I have to wonder if it is an attempt to boost ratings too.

It's such an awful station that no one really listens to it. Still, it would be nice if such lawbreakers were prosecuted once in awhile.

We see the same sort of fevered delusions here among the both the professional and amateur anti-immigrant. An army is invading, destroying our nation, and the President is doing nothing at best, or is a traitor at worst, they claim. Everyone sits around trading stories, and reinforcing each other's delusions, and getting whipped into a frenzy of unreality, until someone crosses the line, and breaks either the law, or a forum rule, and this passes for (liberalism)/(conservatism) among the willing participants.

True.
They also have limited comprehension of people who refuse to start a fight, and will attempt to walk away from them, but once the fight is started, will fight to the death to prevail, showing no mercy.
Islamists have a similar gap in understanding the basic nature of a free people.
I say bring it now, so I can help end it.

Well, the thread is about fevered delusions among ideologues, after all, and how President Bush is, according to them, a)wrong b)traitorous and/or c)evil.
