Indian curry in Indian homes isn't as hot as the ones masquerading in Indian restaurants as "curry".

Same with Chinese food. The stuff you get within China, especially the ones made at home, are a world away from what you get back home. Even the Chinese would find it strange to call it Chinese.

Ohh yeah, thats very much true.. most Indian restaurants cook food in a wierd way, then dump a whole lot of spice in it.

I'm sure this is true ; it's Americanized Chinese . Go to a sushi shop / Japanese rest. in the US and you'll find quite a few varieties that aren't seen in Japan . The sushi portions are much smaller and generally more expensive in the US ...
