JCOC participants witnessed two "man overboard" drills

Done that at Yorktown many times as part of rescue boat coxswain training. Some good memories there.

When I lived on my sailboat at Gloucester Point, VA on the York river across from the USCG station at Yorktown in 1984 I was impressed by the "modern" cutter they had on station. I can't remember the name of her, but she had an interesting history. She was the first US vessel to open fire at Pearl Harbor after the attack started in 1941. The Coast Guard has always been asked to do a lot with very little. Normally they still complete their missions anyway.
