Coke Plans To Expand Flavor Menu

NEW YORK -- How about some coffee-flavored cola in the morning?

That's just one of several new flavors that Coca-Cola is testing.

The head of Coke's North American operations, Don Knauss, also says the company plans to try out a new citrus-flavored soda called Vault. The hope is it will win over people who now drink Pepsi's Mountain Dew.

Vault is Coke's biggest effort at winning over those consumers since its ill-fated launch nine years ago of a green-colored soda called Surge. It fell flat.

The coffee-flavored cola, called Blak, is being tested in Spain and could enter the U.S. market.

Knauss told a conference om beverages that Coke is exploring the idea of fortifying soft drinks with vitamins and other health benefits

I remember being in college when Surge came out. My friends and I tried it once and none of us could finish our bottles.

A six pack of Blak?

Now there is a loser name if I ever heard one.
Is it New Blak or Blak Classic, or Old Balk.

Bleaach, coffee flavored coke? No thanks! I like the original. Don't like the lime flavoring either.

At Epcott center a few years ago, Coke sponsored a Colas from the world pavilion.
I liked the Chinese Watermellon flavored soda the best!
But Israel's lemonade soda was a close second.

Tasting all the 100+ sodas was free, but you couldn't buy any.

Why don't they just name it "Crap"?

Coffee flavored? You're kidding me right?

I haven't tasted the lime flavored one yet. Vanilla flavored, I thought it was good, just needed more vanilla. As for Surge, I thought Surge was decent. I mean, I didn't find anything wrong with it. Granted, it isn't something I would drink on a normal basis, but still, it wasn't that bad.

The best is still the orignal though.

If you tried it once you can't forget how awful it tasted.

Caribbean pineapple cola has always been a favorite of mine. And nobody makes better "champagne cola" than folks at Goya.
