My favorite line was the one about why W gets along with Cheney & Rumsfield so well...

That group should not at all be surprised when the First Lady dishes up fables wrapped in incredulous commentary, sprinkled with a dash of "and-you-think-we're-buying-the-stuff-you-write" humor! (Even is some Freepers just don't get it.)

I know quite a few "first class ladies," but I can't imagine one of them making a Chippendales joke.

And your home planet would be???

Nobody thinks that she went to Chippendale's. That's part of what makes the joke funny.

You don't get it. Of course that's what she wanted you to think--that her comparison was ridiculous, but the very words in the first lady's mouth are like horse dung in a china cup. You don't debase the office, or the country, by giving the national press corps the White House equivalent of a bachelor party.

It's called leadership.

What a funny story about your mom! However, I think it was the Clydesdales that showed up at Hillary's wedding.....

You couldn't be more on the mark.

The comments today about how inappropriate her routine were last night are nearly as funny as she was!!!!

I don't know about you, but I would never suspect that Ruth or Sandra would ever spill the beans about the excursion.

While Cedric was speaking the camera panned over leftists in the audience. The high society types weren’t laughing at his ethnic jokes. Can you imagine what would happen to their leftist social standing if they were caught on camera laughing?

"Ron Fournier of The Associated Press, the Merriman Smith Award for presidential coverage under deadline pressure for his stories on Bush's victory over John Kerry."

Fournier was the guy who lied in print about the applause -- just in case, anybody has forgotten.

It was hilarious...Laura looked lovely- sparkling.

The jokes were successful because there is such abundant and obvious love between these two.

The president was having a blast- he loved every minute of it- just look at the pics of them both:)

I get it fine. It somehow offended your moral sensibilities to even kid about the subject, but given the context it was fine humor.

I'm guessing that just about everything about this country offends you to some degree.

LOL, Hillary is a Clydesdale!

My mom, who wouldn't say a swear word if she had to, occasionally came up with a bawdy joke or two, told with a twinkle in her eye!

She was also famous for getting her words a little wrong. I cringe when I think of the time I was at one of my sister-in-law's bridal showers and someone had commented on mom's nice hairdo. Her reply was "thanks, the hairdresser I go to does very nice blow j*bs. Of course, she meant blow dries!

I got the biggest kick out of the part about Condoleeza.

She was a slam dunk over the paid comedian! But even better? She made the groups incoming president (Smith) look an even bigger cad than he was/is last night. What a rude, unfunny, freakish toon he was. Good thing most folks were eating and talking - not listening to him. Unfortunately, the folks on the dais (such as the Prez) felt compelled to listen to his nonsense. Were I the prez (and it's a good thing I'm not), I would have kept cupping my ear everytime that guy directed his comments to me - shrugging, like I couldn't hear a word he was saying!

Please name the "first class ladies" in which you are speaking. While you're at it, name a President who has been as devoted as W has been (and vice versa) to his wife.

I saw it too. 'Painful' would be an appropriate word. But, those needing a celebrity will excuse practically anything.

Reminds me of my mom when we were Spain. She thought she'd try out her Spanish - greeting the doorman at the hotel with a hearty "ole."
