Sounds like a simple case of forgetfulness on the agents' part to me. Mexico should release them immediately.

These BP agents will be released by Mexico when the Minutemen go home. Just a guess as to how Mexico will play this.

Sounds like a simple case of forgetfulness on the agents' part to me Hernandez did not know why they were carrying the ammunition, the same assigned to other border patrol agents for use while on-duty.
You are probably correct. Notice the "authorities" didn't find any weapons.

One poor fellow with one round of ammo stuck in his seat from a gun show from two weeks prior wound up in a Mexican jail for a couple of years.

Customs inspector found a box in the backseat of their car containing 1,286 .40-caliber and 10 .223-caliber Winchester rifle bullets, the statement said. Mexican law restricts that ammuniation to use by only the Mexican military. Fishy

This is the result of our weak-ass immigration policy. Now they openly hold Americans hostage with no fear of retaliation or repercussions. Where is our offical government's statement on this kidnapping? Vincente Fox owns our border. Our government didn't even fight for its control they just gave it away!

At what point do we get to kick their arse? Oh, right. we need to wait until they have a dozen million more sympathizers here in the US. And some Chinese manpower and technology to back them up.

"Customs inspector found a box in the backseat of their car containing 1,286 .40-caliber and 10 .223-caliber Winchester rifle bullets..." I guess they were going to do some reloading. Did they find any brass, primers, and powder?

Send in the Marines, but please no occupation after we level the place!!!!!!
To: mvpel
According to the link, these guys had just over a case of .40 caliber duty rounds, and a box of 10 .223 rounds. (What are you guys doing rolling around with a full case of department-issued ammo, guys?)
IIRC, that's a felony in old Mexico. Think these boys will be treated just like any other citizen?

Send in the Marines, but please no occupation after we level the place!!!!!! Oh no, you're wrong. I say it be occupied by the millions of illegals we have in this country.

If the big, bad, corrupt mexican "law enforcement" wants to play patti-cake, I say it's about time to oblige them. This crap has gone to far......

Where's President Bush and AG Gonzales on this issue? They know the BP agents weren't "vigilantes".
