I'm curious about what the liberals' darling, Target, pays. I doubt that it's any more, or if it is, their benefits probably aren't as good. This whole attack on WalMart is politically motivated, because the Walton family contributes to the GOP, whereas the Daytons (who owns Target) are huge contributors to the Dems.

Aside from that, this is stupid in any case. Don't like the pay? Get some more skills and get another job. The guy in the picture is young and looks strong and healthy. Why is he working at a job where many of the people are semi-retired, or moms who need a part-time job, etc.? WalMart doesn't build where there are no people and not enough income for people to buy its merchandise, so you know there are other jobs around there and he's just too lazy to get one or get the training necessary to get one.

Perhaps now they are big Rep contributers. But, back in the clinton era, they were BIG Dem contributers. In fact, Hillery used to have a seat on the Wally World board of directors. I suspect that they just throw their big bucks at the party currently in power. That would make good business sense. But you are right, what does Target's compensation package look like? I would be willing to bet it is very similar to Walmart's.

Went to a Super Target the other week. They obviously have a different customer target thn Wal-Mart. I would say single or two income smaller families. Their food court was a Starbucks (even though a free standing one was across the parking lot), the prices were about the same as the local gocery stores' normal (not sale) prices.(I am referring mostly to meat and produce on this) The one thing I did like was their candy aisle. Half of it was devoted to every flavor of Jelly Belly in bulk and some old-fashioned candies.

While in high school my daughter worked at a Target store. They were told that their wages would go up a dollar an hour to match the pay of the new Wal-mart when it opened up across the street.
