You said..."Yes, there are people who's panties are in a wad, but there are also just as many "no matter what they did" defenders. Get real people! Meet somewhere in the middle. Ain't the end of the world."

Your talking about being practical...a novel concept for some people.

My 1.75 cents worth

a) If Savage was as incoherent and crazy as some people on this thread say he is...he wouldnt still be on the air...and selling books. Radio station owners like to sell product and make money. He has a niche market...and he has a schtick to sell in that market. So what?

b) Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan are 'old school'. My late grandmother, who attended Mass and Communion practically every day of her life, and my mother...also a devout Catholic...are both 'old school'. There are lots of people out there who are still 'old school'. It doesnt mean I have to be old school...but I understand and respect those who are. Some of us are a mixture of old school and new school.

c) Lauras comedy routine...in making reference to Desperate Housewives, and stuffing dollar bills in guys g-strings at a Chippendales show...was definately new school. Not something Nancy Reagan would do in roasting her late husband. Not something my mom would be into either. Does that make it offensive...not for me...but for my mom and others like her...not offensive per se..but in poor taste perhaps..

c) If you want to sell ideas to old school folks...you need to have some old school ideas to sell. Sales 101. Alot of old school folks voted for Bush in 2004.

I hope I don't offend you or your mother, as I don't know you, but sometimes children don't have a clue what their mothers are really like.

Very, very perceptive!

Reminds me of a time one of my daughters was going to bring a friend home for college break. She warned him "You cannot swear in my parents' home. Above all, do not slip and say the F word, or you'll be thrown out on your ear!"

I imagine many Reagan Republicans like myself and of my generation still have this simple rule in their house.
