"If you're not with us, you're against us"
Just when you think it's safe to raise your head above the inbred, moonshining, Tarheel Dean Smith worshipping stereotypes for this state someone has to go and pull a stunt like this.
NC ping, please.
Interesting. I would not have couched it specifically to GWBush but the concept is correct.
The priest should have put it in line with homosexual marriage votes and the like.
"Now 40 more have left the church in protest."
Why are they leaving? They should be kicking the pastor out.
Oh well. I hoep he enjoys the loss of his tax exempt status. Going to be kind of hard to pay the bills with no one to pay tithes. . . .
I have no idea what the pastor thinks this accomplishes.
For not supporting Bush, repent or resign?
Change it from a church, to a political club.
I believe in religious freedom, so this pastor can do what he wants. However, I think it is stupid and unnecessary -- it's just going to provide grist for the shrill left-wing "theocrat" mills.
Something doesn't sound right. Is it possible the issue was about same sex marriage, or abortion, and the original group wanted to change the by laws of the church to recognize same sex marriages. The second group that got tossed out were probably the backers of the first group.

Boy oh boy!!! That's my kinda church , can't be to bad , huh ??? Imagine that going to church where are no DUmacrats , how close to heaven can it get ???
Very fishy! I would love to get the pastors side of the story instead of the just the "news media's" and those tossed out.
The funny thing: DailyKOS has this, and has a comment that 4 different people have confirmed the story.
But what they mean (in true democrat fashion) is that 4 people SAW THE NEWS STORY.
The pastor, as it says in the report up above, denies this had anything to do with politics.
Why should we chose sides until we know the story.
When people are thrown out of a church, there is always a lot of animosity, and people make up reasons why it happened to make themselves sound better.
I'm appalled that this pastor would demean the gospel by drawing an equal sign to president Bush.
