If it's a Jesuit publication aren't there many more where he came from?

If B16 is to restore the authority of Rome in America, I think he will have to pick something to make an example of.

The Jesuits are a reasonable place to start, but, as you point out, there are a lot of them, and many of them appear to share a commom purpose with Fr. Reeves.

Can the pope inhibit or discipline the whole Jesuit order in some way?

Sure he can. The entire order was suppressed in 1770 by Pope Clement XIV, following decades of hostility from within the Church and from the European powers. They were restored by Pius VII in 1814. If the pope can suppress them he can do less than that.

As an aside, the suppression is why the California missions are Franciscan: originally begun by the Jesuits, they had to give them up and the Franciscans took them over and built more.

My first choice for disciplinary action would have been Kerry's Paulist "church" in Boston. That outfit needs to be shut down.

I don't really know, to be honest w/you.

I think he could suppress the Order, although I'm not sure how that's done, but I think it was done once before.

It's a crying shame, what they've been reduced to. Their contributions to science, humanities, etc are sizeable. And they had hearts of Lions and courage of Marines. I'm pretty sure they're responsible for developing language for the deaf.

You would think they wouldn't want to destroy such a well-earned reputation, but they're like clinton democrats as opposed to JFK Democrats. Both were flawed, but JFK loved his Country and wouldn't have wanted to lay her low.
