GAINESVILLE - Runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks' phony report to police that she was sexually assaulted won't be an additional factor for a Georgia prosecutor considering criminal charges. If she lied, she lied, he says.
Responding to reports from police in Albuquerque, N.M., that Wilbanks said she was sexually assaulted in addition to being kidnapped - allegations she later recanted - Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter said Friday that he is examining evidence for one charge, providing false statements to a government agency.
Porter is gathering tapes and reports from five law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, as he decides whether to pursue charges against the 32-year-old Wilbanks, who vanished last week days before her planned lavish wedding.

Remember Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil.
Great idea about a book. It has all the elements of a great story. I'd love for somebody like Joseph Wambaugh (The Black Marble the funniest book I've ever read) to work their magic on Duluth.
Going to have to hunt down Midnight and reread it. Read it several years ago & have mostly forgot the story so it'll be like a whole new book to read it again. Getting old ain't all bad. : )

We don't want this story to end.
We want the Truman show for Jenn.

The movies usually stink.
Unless they are made for PBS or HBO>

Most wonderful post. Well written. I've been pained to see the vitriol aimed at this couple. Thank you for pulling it together in the way that we should most humbly approach it.
