Do they know who did it? I read in my Gainesville paper this morning that they were looking for a white man around 25 years of age, wearing a black cap with some kind of logo of a red spear. But the paper probably goes to bed pretty early, so possibly more information has come out.

Thank you, Triggerhippie, for posting this!! It is soooo true.....we natives are in the minority now.
Sounds like they're still looking for the same person. This was evidently the first person who came by to see the van, although they assume he was the one who returned to see it on the day the 94 year old was killed. Very sad - it says that nothing was even stolen.
May not be the guy but may provide lead. It is a (another) sad commentary on value of life. A man who served his country - disabled - beaten by scum.
I think I read about that robbery, too - it happened around here (Lake City) and involved some creeps from Orlando who robbed somebody at a gas station and then led the cops on a 50 mile chase on I-75. The problem is that there are just too many creeps out there! It's hard to remember exactly which one of them did what!
You're quite welcome. You're right, native Floridians are few and far between nowadays.
What we need is for someone to guard OUR border and keep the loonies out. We get northern fugitives at the terminal end of I-95 and the escapees from the west flood in on I-10.
Personally, I think that it's a damned travesty that we get hurricanes AND non-Floridians. One or the other, I say.
Three words. Neuter Jeb Bush.
It's usually mainly newer freepers who seem clueless about how media works.
Sweet goodness - how absolutely horrible.
Thanks for securing our borders, Jorge.
