A 24-year-old Mexican charged with the Oregon murder of a father and the shooting of his 16-year-old son in a home-invasion robbery is an illegal alien with an Oregon driver's license who has been previously deported from the United States.

Juan Carlos Solis is awaiting trial on 41 counts of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, attempted murder, assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, robbery in the second degree and burglary in the first degree, along with at least three other suspects in the July 2004 home-invasion robbery of 12 farm workers.

Solis and the other suspects are facing trial for the shooting death of Paco Chavez-Tena and the wounding of his 16-year old in their home west of Hermiston, Ore. The perpetrators were masked and armed.

Others charged in the crime include Jesus Pineda-Cruz, 38, Margarito Morfin, 21, and Ever Alexis Flores, 24.

After shooting Chavez-Tena, 38, and wounding his son, the suspects stole cash and cell phones.

I hope the police didn't violate this scumbag's rights by not allowing him to contact the Mexican consulate. I would hate to have another one of these maggots get off on a technicality. But then wouldn't his possession of a U.S.-issued drivers license mean the individual tried to defraud the police into believing he was here legally and had no right to contact the Mexican consulate?

A legal alien might have even greater rights to contact his consulate.

I heard A.G. Gonzalez say that giving illegals driver's was a good way of keeping track of them.

It sure did not work in this case.

Our politicians from both sides of the aisle are not protecting us, and don't seem to care because THEY and their loved-ones are not personally affected by illegals.

Why should Mexicans respect us? We leave our doors wide open for their illegal immigration. And now Brazilians and Central Americans are also illegally entering through Messico in much greater numbers. Other Latinos are fleeing their hell holes, are copying the Mexicans and invading from the South. I believe most can fly into Mexico City then proceed from there.

President Bush needs support for immigration reform.
For most illegals, entering the USA is their only serious crime.
Legitimize foreign workers that we need and come down hard on the scumbags.
It is impossible to find the scumbags among 15M illegals, when they are all undocumented.

President Bush needs a reality check, NO Amnesty until the enforcement of existing immigration laws is PROVEN. Otherwise give them Amnesty and there will be another 15 million illegal aliens in the US clamoring for "justice"!
Jeez it is really quite simple, Enforce the Law like every other sovereign nation does!!! NO AMNESTY ever!

Send the whole bunch home..and they come back six months
from now with 'fresh' ID and a different license from
a different state...

Bring the troops home from Europe and station them on the border..

Protecting America FIRST is real Homeland Security

imo

I just love that real citizens will have to provide 4 kinds of documentation to get a driver license renewed- yet, those who have already provided an "illegal document" will still be allowed to slip the system, because there is no failsafe of proving prior documentation. Result is kinda like a rape victim is locked up for being raped- while the rapists get to run free- until caught & then released to run to the border and then come back under another assumed identity- 4 documents and all. This insanity is leading to a tragic event. Homeland security is a joke, of the worst kind.

This is the US Immigration Plan.

Every 5 years give every illegal alien amnesty and citzenship because they have been here 5 years.

Then in 5 years do the same thing over.

Solves the probelm of anyone doing their job concerning controling the border.

Our politicians from both sides of the aisle are not protecting us, and don't seem to care.................

Kind of makes lie of "Government of the people, by the people, for the people", doesn't it?

More like "Government of the elite, by the elite, for the elite."

What frosts my cornflakes is that the elected, part time, hired help act as if their power is either inherited for life or granted by God in perpetuity instead of a temporary appointment by the people and that they are our SERVANTS to do our biding.

For most illegals, entering the USA is their only serious crime.

Most also are guilty of one or more of the following: driving illegally, identity theft, identity fraud, tax evasion, violating employment laws.

American citizens would face severe repercussions if found guilty of these crimes so they must be serious crimes.

People who think that they can ignore any law they don't like because it interferes with their pursuit of a better life are not good candidates for residency or citizenship in the United States.

I heard A.G. Gonzalez say that giving illegals driver's was a good way of keeping track of them.

Maybe there should be some kind of non-painful permanent branding procedure. Any invader could be branded before they're sent home. Caught again, jail time in a jail comparable to those in their homelands.

AG Gonzalez would really like that, since his goal is keeping track of invaders. (sarcasm)
