It says that the company isn't making a vehicle that suits the employee's tastes and needs; or that the price is too high.

Either way, the company shouldn't penalize people for purchasing something.

Kinda reminds me of the Soviet Union, where you were only allowed to buy Soviet goods. If you had the opportunity to buy US goods, you would be 'punished' if you were found out.

But then, what else can you expect from a company in thrall to it's union?

Union = Communism

Oh, I bet the union members have screwed the company plenty of times. Maybe the company's just fighting back. Maybe they figure they've given the union so goll-darn much the least the members could do is buy one of their cars!
