Children’s bodies found in suburban park Tribune staff reports Published May 9, 2005, 11:44 AM CDT The bodies of two young girls were found this morning in a nature area in north suburban Zion, authorities said. The girls, both believed to be eight years old, were discovered by a resident walking through the wooded area near Beulah Park, Deputy Chief Clyde Watkins said. "We had a complaint of two missing eight-year-olds earlier,'' Watkins said. "We don't know if this is the two children or not.''

Yeah, you have to be sure that 'this is the two' rather than those are the two. How many eight year old girls are missing there anyway?
I don't think the mob kills 8 year-olds. Even they have more scruples than that.
A "complaint"?? Odd statement. Where was the Amber alert?
That was a stupid statement. The Trib is a good paper for this type of breaking news, so I'm sure they are on top of this story. Good Lord, those poor kids....
Amber alerts are not put out unless there is indication of an actual abduction.

Carol Whiteside, a secretary at nearby Beulah Park Elementary School, said the missing children were second-graders at the school.
School officials learned of the discovery before 8 a.m. They were awaiting more information from police before informing students of the deaths, Whiteside said.
Classes at the school remained in session, officials said.
"We're trying to stay calm. The crisis team is set up," Whiteside said.
I didn't know that. Hmmm. That's too bad. Maybe it would have helped these two.
This was not in Chicago. Please keep foreign bodies out of our parks we need all the room for locals.

The victims were found at about 6 a.m. at 17th Street and Sheridan Road by a person who jogged off a bike path, Amy Jacobson reported.
The girls were last seen playing at another friend's house Sunday night, and left at about 6 p.m. to go home, Jacobson reported. The girls were reported missing after not returning home.
The area where the girls were found was described as heavily-wooded and hilly. Investigators were using four-wheel vehicles to search the crime scene for evidence.
A bike was also found near the location where the girl's bodies were found.
