Peeyew-litzer material, maybe. This is a classic journalistic hatchet job. I have no doubt that with some effort the author could have constructed a coherent article in favor of evolution, but a lengthy smear is easier to write.

Examples? How about the litany of damning facts trotted out in the first paragraph. Or the concern over the lack of evolutionary biology degrees (please don't bother - I understand why, but it is weak); I cannot help but wonder how many atheistic professors of evolution have theology credentials.

This is an important debate. Articles like this do little if nothing to forward understanding; they only serve to inflame passion. The author is doing exactly what he claims is contemptuous about the opposition.
