>> Crazy. And where exactly do they plan to come up with this cash?

From you.

And me.

And every other American citizen that pays taxes.

You don't even have to speak Spanish. If you show up at an ER and don't pay they have to treat you or refer you to a clinic. This is free care.

They can come after you using a collection agency if they have your contact information, but why do you have to give them that?

If it isn't a life threatening crisis, in a lot of places you would be better off at a private urgent care center. They are usually staffed by former ER docs, the wait is shorter and the prices are lower.

1. after 7 years of paying into blue cross i got stuck with $33,000.00 of hospital bills. now i have no health insurance.

2. i just got admitted to grad school, and classified as out-of-state. meanwhile, the children of illegals get in-state tuition.

How about billing their employers?

While I agree that this a BAD idea, the question is, if the government REQUIRES hospitals and health-care providers to provide care to these individuals without regard to their ability to pay, shouldn't they then pick up the tab?

How would you all like it if you owned a business, the government compelled you to provide these people services, and then you went reimbursed?

"So, somebody help me out here. Does this mean if I learn to speak Spanish and don't take my billfold that I get free health care?"

I think we just completed the socialization of medicine...

Another angle....if the reimbursement is high enough, hospitals will compete for their "business".......

This takes a significant issue away from those who oppose illegal immigration - if hospitals get paid, they won't close, and this issue won't be used to oppose Bush's illegal immigration policy

Guess someone wants 'em here pretty badly.
Badly enough to further subsidize them with my tax dollars.

That would be a hell of a lot cheaper. The problem is that the ACLU will sue you for denying them their hospital RIGHTS.
AT OUR EXPENSE!!!!!

Guess the next push will be to get the sick and disabled to illegally immigrate to the USA.

Now think for a minute, just what did the bull dike Reno do about HIV people coming into the US.

"I'd rather pay a billion for more border guards and buses to ship them back."

I agree. It's complete BULL$#!T that we have to pay for this $#!T. Insurance for my family of four is stopping me from expanding my business, yet an illegal can jump the fence and I f*cking have to pay for them. This must stop. I don't pay taxes to take care of Mexico's poor!

Maybe my grandfather can go to Mexico and have them pay for his cancer treatment.

I have worked very hard to get Republican's elected, however, I agree with you, a third party would be a better idea.
