It was prophecied that in the Messianic Era the hidden meaning of certain parts of the Tanach would be explained to people.

The idea of "Chosenness" actually means that at one time in human history a male figure descended from the House of David on his father's side would appear on the world stage. His main job, amongst others, would be to redeem, i.e. Counter-Balance, the evil in the world, and of course, also the evil in the Jewish people. This guy would be known as the Righteous Redeemer, aka Moshiach.

Is he here right now on Planet Earth ?

Are the people ready to listen and heed his advice ?

We will see what happens over the next few days and weeks...

Challenging the immutability of the prophets warnings is fraught with danger.

Tick...tick...tick...goes the divine clock.

Do you mean Jesus? Did he not accomplish these things already?

I am sincere and am not trying to provoke you. I just would like to understand.

...Only by bringing the ethical monotheist message to mankind...

Traditional Judaism teaches that non-Jews are obligated to avoid idolatry and blasphemy, murder, theft and prohibited sexual relations, uneccessary cruelty to animals, and are obligated to establish a justice system to enforce these obligations.

Prager is being knowingly misleading in not bringing these details, because 'spreading the Gospel' (the primary Christian obligation) is not among them.

I'm a Christian but I just love the wisdom that comes from this guy's ministry. He is a real gift to humanity.

I just wish he understood our Christ and his sacrifice for sin better. Without the Holy Spirit's transforming work, who comes to dwell after we accept Christ's atonement, Dennis Prager's universal call to ethical monotheism seems founded on our human effort.

This I don't quite get.

"The bottom line is that the less Jewish a Jew is, the more he is likely to feel he has a mission to humanity"

...and the more likely he is to avoid anti Semitism and persecution.

The Jewish "mission" is the same one as America's... to bring God's message of freedom to all the peoples of the world.
