The National PTA, representing 26,000 local affiliates, solicited a workshop and exhibit by Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) for public school action against anti-homosexual beliefs at the PTA's convention next month. But another group, Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays (PFOX) of Alexandria, was rejected as an exhibitor at the June 24-26 convention in Columbus, Ohio.

(By the way, still no confirmed time and place for pro-family get-together.)
Several schools my kids attention had PTO's (Parent/Teachers Organization) not PTA so that funds for dues were kept locally. The PTO's are in no way affiliated with the liberal PTA. I was President of a PTO, but in no way would I have ever been a member of the PTA.
I can imagine what they'd have for their display. I don't want to know.
Where there's vulnerable children, there's homosexuals drooling all over the place.
ping to self for later pingout.
They are simply an auxilliary for the NEA and DNC.
"Several schools my kids attention had PTO's ..."
We have PTOs in this area as well.
After the group had met, some of its members happened to see our Senior Pastor. They approached him, and, with tears in their eyes, they thanked him for allowing them to meet. They told him that no other church they had approached in Washington, DC would allow them to meet in their facilities. They were so grateful that our church had not excluded them, and had welcomed them.
The group was a group of ex-homosexuals whose ministry was to help other "gay" men struggling with trying to leave that lifestyle.
The rise of the Antichrist. Satan will rise through the children. That's why the left leaning hearts need to control the public school agenda.
Removing the children from their mothers loving arms via "liberation" was no accident.
"The group was a group of ex-homosexuals whose ministry was to help other "gay" men struggling with trying to leave that lifestyle."
I am disappointed that other churches would not allow their buidling to be used. For me it is no different than allowing ex-cons or drug addicts (or add any other sin here) to use the building to move on in the Lord.
You are probably familiar with this ministry as well:

Repentance is a good thing. Teaching them to go and sin no more is what a church is for. I do hope, though, if they choose to continue their abominations for too long, they be escorted out without question. The homosexuals just looking to hook up for sex will tend to defile those who are seeking help.
Remember, Satan is a great deceiver.
Regina Griggs, PFOX executive director, said her group "does not argue reparative therapy."
"Ex-gays already exist, so there is nothing to argue about," she said.
Too bad I will only hear about this here.
Two words: Anne Heche
Homosexual Agenda Ping.
More evidence (as if any were needed) that public schools are merely the tools of various leftist and secularist agenda; notably in this case, the "gay" agenda.
I know, I know - so many people will say that "their" school is not like this. Well, if it isn't yet, it's been targeted, and it soon will be.
Let me know if you want on/off this pinglist.
Note: Maybe in a corner here and there, a public school exists which is not dominated by crap. But even the text books - which are mandated by central gov't agencies/bureaus whatevers - are saturated with leftist, immoral ideology. How many of you have really read the textbooks which kids read today? If you haven't you're in for a rude awakening.

Yesterday I met with a local pastor about starting a ministry for homosexuals who desire change. It's unfortunate that some folks deny homosexuals the right to seek therapy to change their sexual orientation.
As a heads up, it looks like the term reparative therapy is getting replaced with reorientation therapy. I joined NARTH earlier this year and have been enjoying the education - they're a great organization.
Absolutely -- leftist as they come.
My recommendation is that all Freepers see about getting PTO's in their schools versus the PTA. Best selling point is that all money stays in your local school!
I am chcking in at article 8 often, as it will be posted there.
God Bless them! They come up against more hatred and bigotry than we do. THe Left absolutely deplores them! After all, they can dispell a lot of what the left touts as fact.
Which is exactly why they don't want them in on any school indoctrination. They will teach about AIDS, and that homosexual lifestyles are choice.
You are absolutely correct, gidget7.
From the article in the Washington Times:
"The whole reparative-therapy industry is selling snake oil," PFLAG's executive director said. "From my point of view, the PTA has no business providing a forum that presents as of equal merit that position. It's unethical, frankly, [as if] you can force a left-handed person to behave as a right-handed person. Our beliefs are superior."
ACTION NEEDED
Please tell the National PTA to allow equal access to ex-gay ministries like Parents and Friends of ExGays and Gays (PFOX). PFOX is a national organization that supports families touched by homosexuality, advocates for the ex-gay community, and educates the public on sexual orientation. PFOX's statement of principles is found at www.pathinfo.org.
Your letter will be sent to PTA deputy executive director Michael W. Cathey, public relations manager Jenni Gaster Sopko, and meetings/exhibits coordinator David Erickson.

Do ex-gays exist? Weve recently discovered a DVD entitled, "I Do Exist", that helps answer this much debated question. Get this DVD for yourself, to give to family or friends who may desperately need this information, or for
your church to use with small groups of youth or adults.
Thi s DVD, produced by Dr. Warren Throckmorton, provides a look into the lives of five individuals who have turned from the homosexual lifestyle and includes accounts of how they identified themselves as gay, how they transitioned to a new heterosexual life, and their perspective that change involves more than self-definition.
Order copies for yourself, to give to a friend, or for your church!
It is our hope that you will be informed and encouraged through this resource.
