Yep. Bush and the rest of the Republicans are jumping through hoops for Tom DeLay, who's now down to using "everybody else does it too" to justify his ethical quandry.
All Trent Lott did was try to make an old man feel better on his birthday, and Bush acted like Lott was wearing a sheet and a hood.
And Frist is not even as effective as Lott was in moving legislation through the Senate.
Trent's got a secure seat, so he can free-lance a little if he wants to.
God willing, perhaps not so secure as he might believe.
Roger Wicker or Chip Pickering would be excellent replacements.
