Rodrigus Patten was not handcuffed or shackled while Hoyer interviewed him in an unmonitored, soundproof room at the Naples jail. All the petite female corrections officers were having a girly lunch and were not available.

Florida allowing a maximum payout of $200K is a criminal law itself. The doc's malpractice insurance would be higher than that after a few years. What load of crap is the Florida Legislature spreading around this week - Oh well, the usual strangeness down there.

Patten is serving a life sentence for killing the psychiatrist. Somehow, that does not seem like enough punishment.
