In Rome, after the election of Pope Benedict, rumors swirled that McCarrick, along with several other prominent American Cardinals, had initially thrown their support behind Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini, a political moderate, but one in line with the Church's important teachings.

So what? Martini was "in line with the Church's important teachings."

And, if the Tridentine Mass is all important (as the Prowler intimates in discussing Mahoney), McCarrick has three TLMs in Washington.

If this is Wlady Pleizynski(SP?), one can be dubious, especially after his ridiculous conniption fit over Laura Bush's completely innocent comedic routine at the White House Correspondent's Dinner.

Sounds good to me. Now if we could just get the SOBs who pretend to be Catholic run out of Massachussetts churches or burned inside them as heretics, the Catholic Church would be back in the saddle again as the faith of my fathers.

I might disagree with some facets of this particular authoritarian's Catholicism, but a hard old-school Catholic doctrine is far better than wishy-washy faith. And I'd be far happier putting money in the collection basket after the Pope has cleaned out the dross.

I'm praying that he does so, and brings back additional Latin to the Mass.
